An excellent choice for visiting Yosemite if you are not staying inside the park. Just 7-1/2 miles outside YNP, 1/2 mile from the North entrance is where the turn for the lodge is, then 7 miles in, towards the Hetchy-Hetchy. (Don't worry about the fire damage you'll see on the way in - the lodge is undamaged.) The Lodge includes cabins for couples or families, main lodge, general store, activities areas, pool & hot tub and restaurant for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Cabins are well appointed and comfortable. Service and food in the restaurant are both very good. Drive into the heart of Yosemite is 30-40 minutes if you leave early. The Lodge has a day-trip staff and many activities in/out of YNP. We did a day-long, 10 mile accompanied hike to the North Dome on our 2d day - absolutely breathtaking. They drive you in, small groups (up to 7), with expert wilderness guides. Trip was $125/pp. Lodge is reasonably priced for the area.

This lodge is just a great place to stay with a family. Very friendly, family atmosphere. Lots of kids, everyone getting along, no loud music or obnoxious guests, beautiful surroundings. Definitely worth the price and a great location to head into the National Park.

This place is great as long as you know what you're getting into. We stayed 2 nights after a few days in the relatively quiet Yosemite West. On our arrival night, loud outdoor live music rocked through the resort. We had wanted a place with good access to the northern sites of the park, including the Tioga Pass Rd. This location was fine for those and for Hetch Hetchy. Our kids enjoyed the outdoor games like bocce ball, climbing ropes, and small zip line. The restaurant meals were good ( both breakfast and dinner). Cabins can be noisy with close neighbors (duplex style). They are spacious enough but have no kitchens. This resort can be fun for kids but I would not choose to stay again if we return to Yosemite.

WOW!!!! What a wonderful jewel we discovered in this property! We are from Florida and traveled across the country for a few days at Yosemite. We traveled with two other families - 7 kids and 4 adults. We LOVED this property - the kids didn't want to leave to go to Yosemite. The staff and employees were all so warm, inviting, and friendly. The kids loved the zipline and the pool. It was so conveniently located to the national park and we loved our day at Hetch Hetchy. Our room was so pleasantly rustic - it was so fantastic to leave the windows open and feel the cool night air (something we CANNOT do in Florida summers). We wanted to stay longer. Our cabin was spacious and had everything we needed. We can't wait to return and stay again. I personally LOVED the lack of Wifi in the cabins because my kids actually explored the outdoors and had a great time. Thank you to the Evergreen Lodge for their friendly, welcoming service.

I am definitely not rustic traveler but when a wedding brought me to Evergreen, I was surprised as to how much I enjoyed the property. Despite its location and the fact that our front door was literally always open ( 5 people in 2 bed cabin) we never saw any unwelcome critters. The staff was super nice and made me wish I was 22 living in the woods and working for beer money.
The general store has everything you need and the restaurant makes the best breakfast. The pool bar serves up tasty frozen drinks.. the only thing I would say would make better is since there are no phones in room it would be nice if there was intercom to front desk.. We needed things like extra towels or to have pull out made and we had to walk up to desk each time.

This is a very nice place to take kids and a fun enough place to be an adult. Evergreen has a rustic feel. You rent a cabin that has modern decorating and facilities. There is a good restaurant, a tavern, a big pool, a recreation room and lots of organized activities. Employees are sunny and very helpful. The facility is well maintained. There is a safe though unusual play area for children. Our 3 year old loved it and we saw kids there up to early teens. An adult activity that I enjoyed was a beer tasting class with good instruction about the brewing of beer. There is yoga by the pool in the morning. There is something here for everyone. Evergreen is almost an hours drive from Yosemite Valley, so accessible, but not where you want to be if you want to visit the valley regularly. It is more of a destination resort. The price is high, but in line with other accommodations in the Yosemite area.

Just stayed for 3 nights in a spacious one bedroom cabin. As others have noted the rooms have a radio, small fridge, and no AC. Fortunately the weather was perfect and quite cool so we did not need the latter. The facility has a lot to offer and can certainly keep you busy! Unfortunately the woods surrounding the property were not spared during the 2013 Rim Fire and driving into the resort I thought a bomb has gone off. It really is devastated. Check in was a breeze but parking is not. Many of the cabins have assigned parking and I would ask for one when booking next time. Since the Tavern and restaurant are the best (and only) thing available for a good 45min drive (one way) many folks from other camps eat and drink here too. Our second night we returned from touring the valley around 7pm only to find no parking available- anywhere- not even on the street driving to the lodge. When I pulled into a "check in only" spot to inquire where I could park I was literally told "wow- you are the third guest to tell me that. You'll just have to circle the parking lot until some one leaves." Which I did for the next 30min. Really they should have assigned spaces for the cabins in the overflow lot. The food is wonderful and servings huge-although EXPENSIVE!- share meals! We booked a trip with a guide (Kate) who was wonderful. Bottom line Yosemite is expensive due to its remoteness but the Evergreen is a nice place to stay. We're I to go back I would probably stay in the valley to try something new. Oh yea- do the Hetch Hetchy hike- it's amazing and you don't need a guide for that.

Hello, I’m Lee Zimmerman, one of the owners of the Evergreen. It’s good to hear that you found the Evergreen to be a nice place to stay. Great recommendation on the Hetch Hetchy hike, and thank you for spotlighting Kate, one of our fantastic recreation guides.

We appreciate you bringing the parking situation to our attention and apologize for the inconvenience. Some evenings are very popular among the locals for live entertainment, and when combined with multiple special events for our overnight guests, parking can be challenging. Our management team is already working on some quick alternatives to help prevent this situation in the future, and they have met with the staff to make sure everyone has the information they need to be more helpful next time.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We hope to welcome you back for another wonderful Yosemite adventure.
