“A perfect stay!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

We stayed at the Red Tail Ranch for 2 nights. We wish we could have stayed longer, it was a perfect stay! The owners, Deborah and Kevin, are really nice and make you feel like home. The house and property are beautiful. It was really nice to stay at a quiet place with a lot of space and far away from all the tourism, but also within driving distance to Yosemite (about 45 minutes). Also the breakfast was really good! Deborah made the fresh breakfast herself, and it was the best breakfast we had during our whole 3-week trip. Overall, the best place to stay when you want to stay in/near Yosemite! When we ever go back to Yosemite, we would defintely stay again at the Red Tail Ranch. Thank you Deborah and Kevin, and we'll hope to see you again sometime!

Folks
Without doubt this is the most wonderful place to stay near to Yosemite national park.
Deborah and Kevin invite you into their home, give it over to you and make you feel like one of their family. It is a fairy tale range home overlooking a meadow, dogs that welcome you, humming birds feeding, a patio and hot tub under the most amazing sky of stars you will ever see, a trail around the meadow and places to just sit, talk and kick back. Brilliant place.
Deborah prepares the most wonderful all home cooked breakfasts with eggs from their own chickens. The guests have the run of the whole house which is decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Memory foam beds help you sleep. Get the idea. The attention to detail is never ending and smacks of old school hospitality.
The real stars of this whole review are your hosts Deborah and Kevin. They make it the perfect place to stay.
Really, don't think about staying anywhere else.
Thank you and we will be back.

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely

My wife and I enjoyed every moment of our 4 nights at Red Tail Ranch. The property is picturesque with the house and deck overlooking a beautiful meadow. While the drive between Red Tail Ranch and the highlights of Yosemite National Park are a little over an hour drive each way, it was well worth it to escape the summer crowds and chaos of Yosemite valley. We always looked forward to coming back from the park in the late afternoon to catch the sunset, talk about our day, and relax at the ranch. We grilled and ate our dinners on their fantastic deck. There's also a nice hot tub to check out the stars at night. Deborah and Kevin are such warm and friendly hosts, providing us with great tips on hikes not miss in Yosemite. Their dogs are also super friendly, leading us around some beautiful, extensive trails around their property that Deborah and Kevin help maintain (don't worry if the dogs run off...they always find their way home!). Deborah's morning breakfasts are delicious and great way to start the morning. There are only 2 rooms, so the setting feels so family-like. It was nice meeting/interacting with the guests staying in the other room. There are separate entrances to each room so you don't have to worry about disturbing the other guests. We stayed in the Ansel Suite which was spacious, comfortable, and cozy. If you want the perfect home-base in the Yosemite area, this place is it!

If you want to stay somewhere really close to the Yosemity Natural Reserve, you will not find a better place. Charming and attentive owners, very delicate and very efficient. Excellent facilities, excellent just about everything - spacious room, attached terrace, five star bathroom facilities, kitchen next door. Even the dogs are delicate and well-behaved! Amazing views at daytime, stars like you've never seen them before at night (no wonder, several neighbourhoods set up amateur observatories). Very quiet as well. If I am ever lucky to go back, I will certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: There are two rooms at present, choose the slightly more expensive one.

I booked two nights for my father and I. We knew we would late for check-in, so I called Deborah and she told me it's OK and explained everything I need to know. We met Deborah in next morning and the other couple. Deborah made the breakfast by herself and it was absolutely fantastic. The dogs were so friendly and accompanied us when we walked the trail around the house. Deborah also provided valuable suggestions for us about the Yosemite Park. She'd love to check the condictions of the road for you. Love to come back here with my family again.

We stayed 3 nights at the ranch and had a great time. Deborah and Kevin are super-friendly, gave good tips and recommendations and we felt like family during our stay. The quiet, peaceful setting, the delicious breakfast and spacious rooms are also worth noting. Overall we can't think of a better place to stay in the area and hope to be able to return soon.

I stay in Red Tail Ranch from May 9 to 13, totally 4 nights. I have great days during my stay there. The room is very clean and neat. The closet is big and equipped with a mini-refrigerator. The bed is comfortable. The decorate of the house is nice and attractive. There is also a hot tub for relaxing yourself after a long day hiking. You can see the milky way in hot tub when then moon is not big.

The breakfast cooked by Deborah is wonderful. They use the eggs laid by their own chicken. You can visit the barn to see horses and chicken.

It is about an hour driving to the Yosemite Valley and 2 hour driving to Mono Lake. Even it seems a little far to the Yosemite Park but when you stay there you will find it is actually not at all. It's location is easy to go the Valley and Tioga Pass.

Room Tip: There are two rooms in Red Tail Ranch. If you travel by yourself or 2, you can choose the room with...
