Hello there, fellow TripAdvisee. My wife and I are residents of Chicago, home of 20+ Michelin star restaurants. We came to Groveland expecting a very mellow town (and it was, believe me). But we didn't expect to find a restaurant like Charlotte Bistro & Bar, which was the highlight of our stay. It was near as good as our actual the trip to Yosemite Park (not exactly apples to apples). It certainly smoked our B & B.

Food was excellent. Service was really generous with us. They treated us like kings and had a whole list of red wines that I have never tried before from some of the more remote areas of Cali (lots of Rhone blends). Cheese course was one of the best I've ever had. I wouldn't miss this restaurant if you are in Groveland. Buy some of the more expensive reds on the list (which is still very inexpensive) to try some unusual California wine. Even the stuff by the glass was delicious.

We are local to Groveland and finally got around to trying the Charlotte Bistro & Bar. We took out of town visitors there for dinner. It was fantastic and fun. Everyone was thoroughly pleased with their dinners. The scallops, Filet Mignon, and Honey Stung Chicken - GREAT!

Watch out for the yummy Charlotte Margarita - It has a kick to it. Try the Mousse for dessert.

The place is really beautiful and well appointed.

Based on the good reviews, we stopped in before heading in to Yosemite. Glad we did. Dinner was excellent. The garlic soup was fantastic as was the butternut bisque. For mains, we had the scallops and the pulled pork tamale. Both were delicious. Didn't sample the dessert menu, we were both too full. But we saw some amazing desserts go by to other tables.
We were there in off season on a Sunday night and they were open. We tried to go back on a Tuesday and they were not (honestly, most of the town of Groveland was closed too!). So if visiting in off season, definitely call to make sure they are open

While staying near Yosemite, we found this fantastic restaurant through trip advisor. It was our best meal (and evening) after 15 days touring California/ Utah. The menu was extensive and enticing, only to be beaten by the quality and flavour of the meals. We shared calimari, pork tamale and honey stung chicken. This was followed many a plate of giant s'mores. The food was all delicious and was unbeatable for the rest of our holiday! Owner/chef Doug Edwards came to thank us after we passed our compliments through the waiter. Doug really knows how to run an excellent bistro! We all wish we could move the bistro and its staff to our village in the UK.

Excellent address in Groveland. Hold by a young couple this bar/restaurant is the missing fresh air of the american kitchen. Please stop there when you will pass through Yosemite ...
