A wonderful B&B, close to the northern entrance to Yosemite. Although close to highway 120, the forested surroundings make it feel miles from anywhere. The sense of tranquility is enhanced by the local wildlife i.e. hundreds of humming birds nesting in the nearby trees. Steve (the owner) has strung a line of feeders along the porch, and if you stand still, those tiny birds happily buzz in and out, less than 2 feet from your face. My wife and I stood entranced every spare minute we had. The rest of the Blackberry Inn didn't disappoint either. our large room was wonderfully comfortable and peaceful, and each morning Steve knocked up a delicious breakfast. Local dining options are limited - there is a lodge restaurant serving 'typical Americana' (Steve's words) 5 minutes walk away - but there are a few place 11 miles up the road in Groveland (including the excellent Groveland Hotel). There were too many things left unexplored on our first visit, so we have plenty of excuse to stay at the Blackberry Inn again!

We spent 4 nights with a group of 5 couples, each with its own room. Our room was clean, roomy and comfortable. The breakfasts prepared by Steve were very good and the girls asked Steve for his recipes in several cases. I personally tend to like more basic breakfasts (eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.), but I think I’m in the minority because others rave about the yuppie breakfasts served at B & Bs. All the rooms are different, but everyone seemed to like their room. Our room was on the main, downstairs floor and had a wonderful vanity and a separate room for the toilet. We spent all 3 of our full days visiting Yosemite, eating lunches at various venues in the park. We returned to Blackberry Inn in the evenings and had dinners at local restaurants outside the park. We were helped immensely by Steve. With Steve’s help we worked out a schedule to view the main sites of the park and to eat at wonderful restaurants inside and outside the park. Regarding the sites in Yosemite, it is very important to view things in a proper sequence to avoid the crowds, and the sequence changes depending on the times you are doing the viewing. Similarly, during high season it’s important to make reservations at restaurants. Steve not only advised us in great detail, he made the necessary reservations, both inside and outside the park. Because Blackberry Inn is outside the park, it adds miles to sightseeing in Yosemite. However, seeing Yosemite requires a lot of driving no matter where you stay and if you stay in Yosemite you will need to drive the same miles to go to local restaurants outside the park; which add to the experience. The price seems a little high, but Steve seems to be getting it and he bends over backwards to give good service. Oh yes, Steve set up a dedicated space for us (the 5 couples) to have cocktails and appetizers before dinner.

Room Tip: We liked our room, the only room on the main, downstairs, floor.

We spent 3 nights in May at the blackberry Inn. My husband and I absolutely loved everything about the Inn. Walking into our room we knew right away we picked the right place to stay while touring Yosemite National Park. Our room on the second floor was flooded with sunshine when we arrived and I immediately felt at home. Spacious and airy, ceiling fan, large windows , lovely bedding, clean and two comfy recliners made this our home away from home. The electric firplace next to our bed made for a romatic setting in the evening. The best part is you can turn on the fireplace without it heating up. Great atmosphere. We were so tired at night from hiking etc that we were in bed by 10:00 so we truly appriciated all of the comforts of the Inn. Although the Inn was fully booked every night there we never heard a sound until the local woodpecker and other birds woke us in the morning. Coffee on the porch followed by a wonderful breakfast made by Steve was the start to a great day. The large dining table where we had breakfast with the other guest was so beautiful, set with differnt china every morning. Such a treat for me and my husband who appreciate the efforts of the Inn to make the guest have a wonderful experience. We had not fully planned out our trip to Yosmite but Steve gave us suggestions that helped us get the most from our short time in Yosemite. The Inn is a short ride to one of the entrances to the Park and close to Groveland, a cute littel town with a goldrush feel. When we left we truly felt like we had been to a special place. We would definetnly return and would recommend the Inn to anyone without hesitation. Thanks for making our 30th anniversary so special

Room Tip: There are only two rooms on the second floor of the Inn. There is a large living room area between t...

We just got home from spending 5 days in Yosemite and staying at this B&B. It was amazing! Our host, Steve will spoil you each morning with an awesome breakfast and the charm of the this B&B is Outstanding! The peace and quiet after a long day of hiking was relaxing and just what we needed. The hummingbirds are great too as well as Steve's horses Peter and Lori! Steve is full of information and makes reservations for your dinner at any place you want to eat at each day. He is the best! We would go back in a heart beat!! In addition, Steve was gracious and and very knowledgable regarding the area, places to go and see, where to eat, etc. And the chocolate chip cookies each day left in your room ~ need I really say more?! Book a room and book it fast because this is the place to stay!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Bramberry Room! Awesome! Charming and cozy!

Our group took all five rooms and we were thrilled with the quality and tranquility of the Blackberry Inn. My wife and I loved the "Honeymoon Sweet". Our host, Steve, immediately helped us plan our Yosemite adventures. He recommended the most appropriate hikes, dining and tours all while helping us avoid the Memorial Day crowds. Steve's answer was always "yes", he could not have been a more gracious host, a better chief or a better addition to our cocktail hour chats. A five star experience.

Room Tip: Highly recommend the Honeymoon Sweet

Stayed three nights in spring 2012. Very convenient location between Groveland and Yosemite park entrance, quiet and restful, reliable wi-fi, friendly and professional service, immaculately clean rooms, delicious breakfasts. A beautiful experience at every level. Top rating is well deserved. Highest recommendation.

Reading the reviews on tripadvisor we had VERY high expectations when we checked in to Blackberry Inn and Steve far exceeded those expectations. Absolutely stunning b&b, better than the photos. We stayed in the Brameberry Room which was very spacious, spotless, and stunning! I wish this was my room at home. I wish we lived at the b&b! The tub was outstanding and the shower a dream. The reception was wonderful and porch cats were very kind. Steve made delicious breakfasts and was full of GREAT information for our visit to Yosemite. Breathtaking! I seriously want to live there. Whenever we return to Yosemite this is the only place we'll stay!
We got engaged in Yosemite during this trip and Steve brought out candles in our muffins in the morning. He was so thoughtful!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are wonderful. The Brameberry Room that we stayed in and the Honeymoon Suite both h...
