“Best place I have ever stayed”
Reviewed 7 October 2012

I travel a lot for business (Hilton VIP gold, Starwood Perferred Gold) and I can say with complete confidence that this is the best place I have ever stayed in my life. The rooms were incredible, the decor and carpeting making it feel warm and welcoming, the bathrooms felt like they were brand new with nice fixtures and tiling, the grounds were very well kept and the food was amazing!! If you want to spend some time in Yosemite then you will want to stay here, there just isn't any question. It's close enough to the park that you can easily get to and from it without much of a hassle. And the owner will even pack a lunch for you if you want to picnic in the park (highly recommend this). Thanks Steve!!

What a beautiful place! The bathrooms were lovely with such scrumptious towels which is important to me. A really large room and chocolate chip cookies every day. One complaint....a really formal breakfast! Even though the food was good the atmosphere was very stiff at breakfast. We stayed in 4 B&Bs on a 10 day trip and this was by far the loviest but not the favorite because of that.
The location is really convenient for the park and the owner is wonderful at advising where to go not only in the park but the restaurants too.

BlackberryInn, Owner at Blackberry Inn at Yosemite, responded to this review, 15 October 2012
We wish to thank Judy F for her kind and thoughtful review that she posted for us. We would like to respond to her statement, " One complaint...a really formal breakfast! Even though the food was good the atmosphere was very stiff at breakfast."
Of all the wonderful reviews and supportive remarks that we have received over the past five years, the comment heard the most by us is about the breakfast.
Our guests overwhelmingly enjoy their time at breakfast...sometimes not so much because of the quality of the food, but because of the rich conversations which flow over the table. We are very fortunate to be blessed with a clientele of mostly seasoned and interesting travelers from all over the world. The breakfast hour here is unique; mostly amicable, warm and friendly...sometime outrageous! With that said, occasionally the conversation can be quiet and stilted. This happens occasionally and is no one's fault in particular, but sometimes just the chemistry of the moment, or just the law of averages.
We have considered changing the format of our breakfasts after such occasions as we suffer right along with the guests...perhaps more, since we want everyone to be happy and have a great time. But then we have a change of guests, another wonderful breakfast and the supportive comments come again, so we leave things as they are.
The Blackberry Inn is expanding and we are adding five beautiful new suites to our room inventory in a separate building beginning April 1, 2013. We are very aware that some people do not care to share a table for breakfast with others, are shy, don't want the structure of a formal breakfast, or just want their privacy. It is with these guests in mind that we will have a completely different format with these new suites. A continental breakfast delivered to the door will be standard for the new rooms, with the option of eating inside at your own breakfast nook, or outside on your private patio area.
We are constantly trying to improve our services and absolutely hear the remarks that come our way. We hope that, beginning in 2013, we will be able to offer the variety of service that will please all our valued guests.

We stayed at the Blackberry Inn for 3 nights while exploring Yosemite. From the time of our arrival everything was perfect: a very comfortable room with its own entrance ( the Honeymoon suite); very attentive host; superb breakfasts at which we enjoyed exchanging experiences with other guests; and a welcoming environment on our return in the evenings, with lights on and fresh cookies in the room.

The peace, tranquility and comfort of the Blackberry Inn was super.

Room Tip: The privacy of the Honeymoon suite is a bonus.

Our stay at the Blackberry was very pleasant. Steve is a great host. The 2 course breakfast was excellent and the room was spectacularly clean! The B and B is conveniently located to Yosemite National Park. The numerous Hummingbirds at the feeders are an added bonus!

My Wife and I I enjoy staying at B&Bs wherever our travels might take us; sometimes our experiences are disappointing, but the overwhelming majority of our stays have been pleasurable. Every now and then we come across a Bed & Breakfast which we would classify as being spectacular and the Blackberry Inn of Groveland falls into this exclusive catagory. The perfect compliment to Yosemite National Park; the Blackberry's Innkeepers fed our desires to explore over a delightful daily breakfast which included stimulating conversations with other guests - who seemed more like an extended family - then tenderly provided for our well-being after full days on the trails.

Room Tip: 1) I viewed Yosemite National Park as being the Blackberry's fitness center 2) Any available ro...

We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite at the Blackberry Inn for four nights in mid-September. We used the Inn as a base for our daily visits to Yosemite National Park. We found the daily drive from the Inn into Yosemite to be very enjoyable. It really is an ideal location for anyone visiting Yosemite. The Inn is also conveniently located near Groveland, which has a small grocery, and a few restaurants. Additionally, there is a gas station right across the highway from the Inn and a laundry. The Honeymoon Suite was spotless, the king-size bed very comfortable & cozy, and the bathroom had a large tub and separate shower, which we enjoyed. There is no TV in the room, but we were usually tired from our long days spent in Yosemite, as such, we were happy to relax and enjoy our quiet time together.

Steve, the owner, is truly a wonderfully warm and gracious host! He really went out of his way to meet and exceed all of our needs. Steve has a wealth of knowledge on Yosemite and the surrounding area, and we found him always happy to make recommendations for each of our days spent exploring the nearby areas. He prepares a delicious breakfast each morning and makes every effort to meet everyone’s dietary needs. We also really enjoyed watching the humming birds buzzing around all the feeders hanging from the porch eaves. In fact, we enjoyed observing the hummingbirds so much, we felt it was an added bonus to staying at the Inn! We look forward to returning to Blackberry Inn sometime in the future and hope to try one of their new rooms (still currently being built).

Quaint, wonderful, sweet! Loved the wrap-around porch and watching the bumble bees and hummingbirds fluttering around the bird feeder, while drinking a nice glass of wine (which we brought) at sunset.

Steve is a wonderful host, the room was decorated with lovely details, and the inn sits close to either Yosemite park or to the quaint town of Groveland!

Really recommend this place!
