My family and I did not stay at the Lodge but rented a house through Sea Ranch Lodge. We arrived at the house at 4 pm Friday, left early Saturday am for a brunch in Mendocino, ate dinner out and left Sunday am. It was a nice, comfortable house but nothing fancy. The hot tub was about 12"deep, but I'm not a diehard spa fan anyway. We ate no meals in the house, and were barely in the house except to sleep. We left everything just as we found it and still we were charged $30 for an hour and a half of cleaning... charges that they can't even specify! I've been renting vacation houses in the area for 20 years and have not bee charged a "cleaning fee" before. For a $30 fee they have lost customers who are willing to pay over $200 per night lodging? I don't get the logic of it. For rentals, my standby is Beach Rentals in Gualala, they are honest and helpful (and I would have rented through them if they'd had a dog-friendly house available that weekend.) I'll not rent through the Sea Ranch Lodge again.
