Fun area to hike in. Would love to go kayaking here...hopefully next time. Hopefully it will be when weather is a little warmer!

This campground was absolutely wonderful for a family weekend getaway. The campground is set along the Gualala river and is surrounded by old redwood trees. In the center of the campground is a store, laundry matt, swings, slide, volleyball net, basketball hoop, ping pong tables(50cents for a ball), horseshoe pits, and bocce ball, plus the bathrooms and showers are located there as well. The showers are coin operated($1.25 for 7 minutes) and are automatically warm(cannot adjust temperature). The campground is dog friendly and provide poop bags and dog "parking areas" around the play area. Campsites are close together, but that is due to the facility trying to preserve the natural surroundings as much as possible. The staff are wonderful, kind and helpful. Rules are strictly enforced. There are electrical outlets at every other site, so bring a long extension cord. Water spouts are at every other site. Remember to bring your Off spray, mosquitos are bad! The river is low so the beach is very rocky. We had a blast and will return again. The campground is about 25 minutes north of Fort Ross. About 3 miles north of town is a beach access that is dog friendly and free.
