It was nice to see this bit of property open to the public. Wished it had let you go all the way out to the head!

“Lovely walk through meadows, bluffs, and beaches.”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

A beautiful place for a nice walk along paved or groomed paths through meadows and cypress groves. You can walk along the bluffs looking down at the waves or stroll along the rocky beach admiring all the driftwood structures erected by visitors. Day use fee on the honor system requested at the entrance (we paid). Restrooms at the visitor center and down near the beach. Spectacular on a sunny day!

“Visit the "Noma" in "Mendonoma"”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

Walking on the Sonoma County side of the Gualala River is always great. Each season brings new birds, flowers, tides and wave actions. during the migration months this is a great place to watch the whales. On one end of the migration watch the pods go South and on the other end see mothers and calf's as they return home. If you love to see pelicans dipping their wings over the spindrift of waves this is the place. There are several trails within the park all are easy walking. There is nice concrete pathway for wheeled travelers and some grassy or off path trails for others. If it's rainy beware of slippery muddy sections. Year round deer, and birds abound. My favorite memory took place one Memorial Day weekend when we spotted an Orca right off shore and watched in awe as it breached three times and then zoomed out toward the open water. It happened so quickly I had no time for camera shot.
You can even take an extended walk on the Sea Ranch Bluff trail with its many spur trips. I never tire of the park and the walks that overlook the Gualala River, stretching out to Whale Point and South to The Sea Ranch. All seasons, all year. You can also travel down the spit of sand that borders the river and ocean. Please be careful, however, and never turn your back on the ocean. Oh and did I mention the freshest air. Try a walk for yourself, and family If you come to town often, please buy a monthly pass and help out the park system.

“Wonderful Location”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

This park gives access to both the bluff side trail in The Sea Ranch and the beach where the Gualala River joins the ocean, if the mouth is open. There is a daily fee to park but know that the pass is good that day for all Sonoma County access points ie Shell, Walk-on, Stengel, Pebble Beaches and more.
