“Cozy, comfortable and beautiful view”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

This is a very cozy motel. Loved the view. Breakfast was included. The waterfront fire pit was a nice touch. The feather bed topped mattress was a bit uncomfortable but doable. Our room was nice but on the small side.

Heather greeted me and was very helpful. Had room 111 that had a partial ocean view...over the parked cars. Nice seating areas to enjoy the views. Wanted to sit outside to eat so went to the market next door and brought my goodies to one of the many adirondack chairs to enjoy the view! There is a short bluff walk..no beach access..to enjoy too! The room was small and I didn't really have anywhere to open my suitcase. Very small closet. Bad paint job..painters slopped wall paint on trim paint. Decent size bathroom. On my one week trip they had the best breakfast. Good eggs and other goodies to choose from.

I guess being a called a Motel we should expect a few rooms round the car park but most of these do - our room which was a superior and expensive had views of cars in the front, and an old fence and some rubble from the back. On the positive side, the beds (2 x Queen) were good, there was a little kitchen and the room was clean. Also you can sit on some chairs overlooking the ocean a short walk from the rooms. (Our room was quiet enough but the ones on the road would be noisy I was told)
The breakfast but not a fun experience. it's set up in the reception - no bread, just some buns and sloppy scrambled egg, plus the usual yoghurt etc. Even though a lady was on the reception 2 metres away the spills and slops were never wiped and piles of used plates were stacking up. No one bothered to move them. There were not enough chairs for people to sit out side, some sat on the wall, some just had to wait.
The guy on the desk was helpful when we said we wouldn't stay the 2nd night, so we packed our bags as soon as we could and moved on to Bodega Bay.

Room Tip: Stay as near to the ocean as possible.

My husband and I found the Surf Motel to be charming- with big poofy feather beds and pleasant staff. Lovely hummingbird bushes abound and we could watch them and the beautiful view at the same time, snuggled into our adirondack chairs. Fun time...

Room Tip: Some rooms have better views.

Small tidy little rooms with a kitchenette. It has all the little amenities you might expect from a small motel. Lots of parking too.

The couple that runs the place are very nice and put out a delightful breakfast in the morning. The waffle was outstanding and the eggs were delicious. They also made these cheese and bacon rolls that looked like a rose. Cute touch and very tasty!

There is a fabulous grocery store just down the street with a good wine selection. Nice deli choices too if you want to take something back to the bluff and enjoy the view and drink your wine at the tables set up there.

Room Tip: Next time we are going for the queen bed and the ocean view!

Small motel right on the coast. Room was nice and clean. View was awesome, free breakfast had a good variety both hot and cold. Staff friendly. Would stay again. Got there at 7pm on a Sunday night. Check in was fast. The town was pretty much closed though, gave us a recommendation as to where to eat. Keurig coffee maker in room as well as a refrigerator and microwave, flat screen tv and great heater! It was quite cold. Walked the trail on the bluff exit to the ocean, very quiet and relaxing. Chairs, tables and fire pit too.

Here for a night and very pleased. It's no Ritz but the view and atmosphere are amazing. There's even a great little firepit facing out to the ocean where you can sit and socialize. Fabulous grocery next door, pizza just down the way. Breakfast is included and it was good! Plenty to eat. Walls are thin and bathroom a bit dated. For the price, it was a great deal.
