I stayed for two nights. Needed to get out of the city and away from the job. I wanted to stay longer and would have if I could. Its beautiful and quiet. It was exactly what I needed. The massage therapists are amazing and I would highly recommend splurging on getting one if you are staying at applewood. Also, get up for the breakfast! Its worth it, the rooms are amazing. Thank you!

We stayed only one night but were greatly impressed with this Inn. We arrived early and were only slightly disappointed that the restaurant was not open for lunch. After lunch at the Korbel winery we checked in to our very attractive and comfortable room (the bed was luxuriously comfortable). Before dinner we relaxed with a bottle of wine in a breezy veranda by the pool. If you have the opportunity try the chef's tasting dinner with the wine pairing...yummy! To top everything off, all of the staff was extremely competent and friendly -- from the first greeting they made you feel like they were genuinely glad to see you.
I would love to spend a little more time here next time in the region.

Thank you for staying with us, Bryan H. There are so many things to do in Sonoma County- ziplining, cheese tasting, hiking, kayaking, farmers markets, and so much more. Our concierge could plan a perfect day for you when you stay a little longer on your next visit. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Applewood Inn during our trip out to California for the IRONMAN 70.3 Vineman Triathlon. Immediately upon arrival we were greeted with friendly service and several glasses of wine. Our room was quaint & we had a charming corner room on the lower floor of the main building that overlooked the redwoods. The restaurant was an elegant touch. Breakfast was fresh and featured many locally grown and seasonal sourced options. Dinners were a bit expensive but the chef was very skillful in his craft and our meals were fantastic. I would highly recommend staying on the Applewood Inn if you are traveling through the Guerneville/Sonoma Coast region.

Two nights was not long enough to stay, especially with days packed full of winery visits, coastal and redwood jaunts, and shopping expeditions. The inn is a vacation in itself. I would have been perfectly happy just staying put all day. We enjoyed the restaurant as well, especially the breakfasts. We took advantage of the wine passport, which allowed us to taste for free at any of 21 nearby wineries. I think we also timed our visit well, 2 nights, including a Sunday night, which misses the weekend rush, but allows for a Sunday dinner at the restaurant. Overall, a definite 2 thumbs up for this relaxing retreat.

Room Tip: Room 15, with a dual shower and Juliet balcony was lovely.

I loved everything about this place.. The serene surroundings with the comfort of a beautiful room (loved the king-sized bed and wifi ) is just perfect. Too bad we missed the restaurant, we didn't know they were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays..

This was a wonderful place , beautiful area, nicest staff, and amazing dinner. The rooms r on the small size, but there cozy and comfortable. I would highly recommend this Inn to my friends and family and will return again

Room Tip: try to book a room on the second level, brighter and larger

My husband and I recently stayed here for a night. We were in the main building, which had been a large country home. We had room 8, Pistoia, which I had specifically selected because of the balcony -- which we loved! The room is right off the main room of the house, but we heard no noise, nor did traffic noise bother us. The bathroom left a bit to be desired -- tiny corner sink, slow flushing toilet, and tub/shower combo -- but these kinds of things are to be expected in a older property.

The linens are of high quality and the bed was very comfortable. I appreciated the complimentary glass of wine, and the enthusiastic young staff in Reception.

Go to Applewood -- you won't be disappointed!
