“A real Treat”

The restaurant is very welcoming. It is comfortable and warm ithout being pretentious. Food is excellent. The rac of lamb is perhaps the best I have ever eaten. Our meal here came at the end of a 2 wee trip and eclipsed every other restaurant we ate at.

“Belated Birthday Dinner From Kids!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2012

The drive to the restaurant was beautiful. It was nestled among beautiful redwood trees. The restaurant is small and intimate and not loud at all. Our dinner was amazing, from the appetizers to the dessert. A special thanks to our wonderful servers Homer and Ashley. We will hopefully return in the future.

“Delicious and complex”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2012

Do not miss their Gazpacho and/or the butter lettuce with apples starters, their Lamb Chop and their Salmon mains. Mouthwatering as I write this. The chocolate mocha mousse on a hazelnut praline crust was perfection.
Good informative and helpful service, good insights on local wines.
Decor reminded me of a ski lodge.

“trying too hard”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2012

I approached dinner here with high hopes, perhaps too high. I left with the impression that perhaps the restaurant was trying to justify its one star Michelin rating. For every "thank you", I got a "my pleasure." It got old after awhile. The food was very good, but not spectacular. (Though the pastry shell on the apricot tart was first class.) The halibut was nicely presented and tasty, and the salad with butter lettuce, green apples, chevre, and pistachios with honey-chive vinaigrette dressing was delicious. Nevertheless, I was never able to fully relax and it didn't seem the wait staff did either. They could make the occasion much more fun with a little levity.

“Excellent location for special occasions”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2012

Located in the heart of redwoods and wine country this Inn and restaurant are true country chic. The food is excellent, flavorful and fresh. The staff was very solicitous without being over bearing. Chef's menu was very appealing but the individual entrees of King Salmon and Beef Tenderloin won the day. The Panang Curry preparation with the salmon was true Thai flavor and the accompanying soft shell crab tempura style was just "icing on the cake". Worth the drive about 35 minutes off Hwy 101 from Santa Rosa.
