Cypress Inn on Miramar Beach

We stayed in the El Cielo room on a motorcyle trip. First, the Road King and I went north on the Pacific Coast HiWay, then we headed south. Cypress is a true bed and breakfast. Not in the victorian charm kind of way, but in the super beautiful, modern decoration, my abode is your abode kind of way. After two long days of aggressive biking on CA Hwy 1, this was the first place we felt like we could breathe in the ocean air, kick off our boots, and wander among the sand and fog and locals, and breathe easy. An intimate dining area gave rise to a couple of lovely talks with other visitors about where they had been, and where we all were going. We met a wonderful couple , who rode a little in earlier days, loved it and don't ride so much anymore, in the evening. The next morning, we shared a quiet table with a lovely newlywed couple from New Brunswick, who were also traveling south down Hwy 1. Then our server shared her story of realty, riding, and how she will ride again.

We also found a relaxed and friendly eatery about a block away. If you'd think you'd like this, please look up our Trip Advisor visit to the Mirimar Beach Cafe.

By far, our quietest, most intimate, best stay on Hwy 1.

Room Tip: They're right when they say that you're there to enjoy the view. Splurge, and book the room...

We have stayed here 6 times and in 6 different rooms. Each room has been great. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very close to everything and walks on the shoreline is fantastic. No traffic and you can hear the waves all night.

Room Tip: Rooms are as pictured.

The hotel is right on the water resulting in beautiful views. The rooms are clean and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. They have a great wine and cheese event at night and breakfast in the morning. That gave us the opportunity to meet some interesting people. There is a good restaurant a block away that was a speak-easy during prohibition. It was interesting to learn that Half Moon Bay was a major port for importing booze from Canada during prohibition.

My husband and I spent two nights at the Cypress Inn B&B and we LOVED every moment. Our room was on the first floor of the main building and our patio faced the ocean. We got to enjoy windsurfers & dolphins from our room! There was a fireplace which kept it warm and cozy in our room and the bed, bedding, toiletries and coffee maker (Keurig with real half and half) in the room were all first class! We had a chance to tour several of the rooms, and they were ALL very nice. It was nice being in the main building on the first floor because we had access to the fresh brewed coffee and fruits anytime we desired! The breakfasts were fresh and delicious, gourmet treats, and the happy hour included delicious appetizers in addition to wine and cheese. It was exactly what I had hoped it would be and then some; we can't wait to go back! We visited the Ritz and had lunch there and there's no doubt that property is first class and gorgeous, but we much prefer the small and intimate feel of the Cypress Inn B&B. Thank you, staff, for making our visit so special.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice. If a "view" is important, be sure you specify that.

We spent one night here and we enjoyed very much! The room had a wonderful view on the Pacific Ocean and we arrived just in time to watch the marvelous sunset. While laying in your bed or enjoying the chimney in your room you listen to the waves.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everybody was invited to have a glass of wine and some snacks in the late afternoon.
The breakfast was simple but very good - pancakes with fresh fruits, coffee, tea juices...
Unfortunately we weren't able to stay longer but I promise I come back.........

Used trip adivisor to find this inn. What a pure pleasure. Great view of the Pacific - outstanding breakfast - wonderful afternoon wine & cheese + many other treats. Close to S.F. - Palo Alto - Santa Cruz - Los Gatos and many more. Jazz club just down the road. Piano bar at Mirimar Beach Restaurant. Will be back.

Room Tip: Over look the Pacific.

My visit was exceptional. The room had a fantastic view and the friendly and helpful staff and amenities were wonderful. From the snacks and drinks in the late afternoon, to the dessert a little later in the evening, we were pleasantly surprised. And the next day breakfast was great as well. I would highly recommend Cypress Inn on Miramar Beach.
