We stayed here two separate nights. It's a close and easy drive to SFO. Typically it's reasonably priced, but they jacked up the cost "because of demand" when we were there. It was noisy the first night when we stayed near the street. We asked for a 2nd floor room in the back the second time, it was much more relaxing. You just have to disregard the workers smoking by the dumpster. The hotel was dated; sluggish sink drain, spots on carpet, and no nightlight for the bathroom. The breakfast area is very small and crowded. The daytime staff was friendly and accommodating; but night crew, not so much. There was no coffee. No public computer.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back, second floor.

Stayed here September 23rd while driving the coast. We had a room far from the road and office so it was quiet. Room was very spacious and clean. Shower was good as far as hot water and pressure. One downer inthe room was a huge space under the door. They need some new sweeps or sills. We stuffed a towel in it.
Breakfast was the usual. Good enough to get the day started. Always coffee in the lobby.
Easy 7-10 minute walk to a beautiful beach. And thats why you go here!
We'd use this place again without hesitation.

We stayed here for one night travelling from San Francisco to Monterey. The hotel was as expected . We asked for, and we were allocated a room away from the main road which was really busy . Our room was clean, very comfortable and good value. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. A good place to stop.

Stayed here after all hotels near the airport were booked or cost upwards of $400. We ended up being pleasantly surprised. The property was clean, the area was quite nice, and the staff were friendly. It was about 30 min. to the airport in the early, early morning. If ever flying out of San Francisco again, we would stay here again.

When San Francisco hits 106 degrees (all-time record), it's a good time to escape to the beach. I looked at reviews for the various budget options in Half Moon Bay for a last-minute Labor Day escape. The Comfort Inn emerged as the best choice. It far exceeded our expectations.

Tip: Call the local 650 hotel number to make a reservation. The 800-number was a horrible experience with an ineffective voice response system and long wait times. The local staff is awesome, so look up the number online and give them a call instead.

The hotel is a pleasant 1/2-mile walk from a wonderful local beach (Miramar) that has soft sand, gentle waves, and fewer crowds than the big state beaches. Same distance gets you to the Coastal Trail, a great walking and biking path. Plus you don't have to bring the car!

We loved that the hotel offered a roomy, empty fridge, with extremely functional freezer (how rare is that); microwave; and cabinet with counter space that made it easy to bring our own food and eat our meals at the beach. With daily trips to the shopping center nearby for Thrifty ice cream ($2 for a big scoop) at Rite Aid and restocking at the Whole Foods-like market next door to Rite Aid. If it weren't so hot, we definitely would have eaten next door at The Barn.

Every staff member we encountered was helpful and nice. When there was no hot water for a period in the morning (unusual I think) they knocked $40 off our room without being asked.

Breakfast was fine. Go early to get a banana. I bought my own plain yogurt at the store because they never seemed to have many of those. The cream cheese and peanut butter were nice extras.

The room was surprisingly well updated and very clean. Shower clothesline great for drying beach togs. The beds are a bit hard but we found them really comfy and slept well. The AC was responsive and so welcome in that unusual heat. Granted we had the AC going, but I didn't hear much noise from the road or any adjoining rooms. Ask for a room on the 2nd floor away from the road.

For a reasonably priced, totally easy, awesome beach getaway, this is your place. We will be back!

Room Tip: 2nd floor, away from road
