Description: Mezzaluna Restaurant is located in the historic Princeton Landing building (which was built in 1908). The harbor town of Princeton By The Sea is located 20 miles south of San Francisco. In this scenic area of Half Moon Bay, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean, you can experience breathtaking coastal views and marvel at the giants waves of Mavericks surf spot. We provide nothing but the highest quality of meat, fish, produce, pasta and local fresh ingredients. Mezzaluna is continually awarded as Best Restaurant on the Coast and Best Customer Service. In 2012, Mezza Luna was awarded "Favorite Italian Restaurant" and in 2013 awarded "Favorite Overall Restaurant" and "Favorite Italian Restaurant" by the coastside community and the readers of the Half Moon Bay Review. In 2014 Mezza Luna was awarded by Open Table the "Dinners Choice Award". But it doesn't take an award to prove the quality and consistency of the great food, service and wine... You must experience it for yourself.

Had lunch there on a busy Saturday afternoon.
I had heard about the restaurant and decided to give it a try.
Service was attentive. The food selection options were nice, but the actual food was just Ok.
The tomato brochettes were bland. My husbands' salmon carpacio was not appetizing. I was very disappointed with my veal dish. Myhusban'd angel hair pasta entree was just ok.
For dessert we shared a creme brûlée and it was ok.
I would personally not recommend it.
Not sure why it is so famous

My husband said this was the best lasagna he has ever had. Nice atmosphere and great service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had a business dinner here recently and had a good time. The food, on average, was very good though a couple of folks complained about tough veal dishes. Service was very good considering how packed the place was, including several large groups including our own.

The menu is fairly extensive as is the wine list. That night they offered a number of specials, but were out of 3 or 4 main course specials by the time we arrived (7:30). That is surprising. Why would they offer it if they can't supply it for a good portion of the evening?

The wait staff, most speaking with Italian accents (and ours could actually speak Italian with us so they are probably for real), really hustled and tried to make everyone happy. I suspect that the locals may avoid this place as it is clearly aimed at the tourists. However, if you can't get into Pasta Moon (probably the best local Italian place in the area), this is certainly a great second choice. If you are going to be here for several nights, give them both a try and you decide which is best. It is certainly worth the visit. Cheers!

Food and service is very good at this large Italian restaurant in Princeton by the Sea. I was here with a large group on a set menu (usually a recipe for just so so food), but Mezza Luna didn’t disappoint with excellently prepared pizzas, salads, salmon, pork, gnocchi, vegetables, and perfect profiteroles. I had been here before for dinner with friends and the menu offers fresh fish, seafood, pastas, and many Italian specialties. The bartender made a first class margarita in a tall glass ($7.50). Really nice people in a very pretty restaurant, and a great choice for any group get together. There is a large fireplace in the room with the bar. Park your car and walk around the charming area.

Mezzaluna has been around for years. Its always reliable and usually doesn't require an advance reservation. The food is basic and good quality, it just doesn't come close the either It's Italia or Pasta Moon.
