We stopped for lunch at the George and Dragon on the way to York. I am so glad we did.
From the decor to the food everthing was perfect. All the food is sourced from the Lowther Estate and is delicious. All the staff are young but are a credit to the hotel. Fantastic service.
I cannot comment on the rooms, but as one of our party is in a wheelchair I dont think they would be suitable, as they are upstairs and dont think there is a lift.

We recently stayed at The George and Dragon for three nights, meeting up with some friends who also stayed at the hotel. When we arrived we were warmly greeting by a very pleasant girl they went out of their way to get our room ready as we had arrived early. Our room was a deluxe which was larger with a huge bathroom with a roll top bath, it was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean, the bed had beautiful cotton sheets and it was very comfortable.

The food in the restaurant was wonderful, Paul's twice baked cheese souffle was out of this world as were their steaks, chicken etc, the staff are excellant so very helpful and pleasant, breakfast was very good, but they do need to make a little bit more fruit salad.

We look forward to returning to the Lakes and staying at the George and Dragon.

Thank you to all the staff especially Paul for making us very welcome and cooking us some fantastic food.

Half way between Guildford and Oban we are staying here on the way up and on the way back! Service very attentive, decor clean, retaining the feel of the pub, and not too overstated. Food and Beer have so far been excellent. Room clean and well appointed. Looking forwards to breakfast and the journey home!
