Bento box is delicious! The ambiance itself is a little dull for a Japanese restaurant, a little on the crowded side as the tables are Farley close to each other and if you don't mind sharing your conversation with complete strangers the food makes up for it.

“Amazing & Authentic”
Reviewed 4 December 2013

Dinner great. Lunch Bento box great. Sashimi was crazy good. Atmospere light and peaceful. Our bill for 3 people was less than what we paid at the cheesecake factory for 2 people and we didn't wait for a table. Go with friends or go alone, this place is AMAZING & AUTHENTIC.

“A little gem in Hayward”
Reviewed 24 November 2013

The restaurant is in a building that looks like it was a diner from the outside and is located near a Sizzler.
The chef all greet you when you enter, which is nice. The service was really good. I sat at the sushi bar and was greeted by a chef behind the counter who was polite and helped me decide what to select from the menu. He was enthusiastic about not only showing all the different items I was asking on the menu but also explaining the difference in taste, texture, etc. I went to this restaurant on a week day night so may be the level of service was better than usual because the restaurant was not very full but it was very good.
The food was really good! I got a couple of different rolls and they were all very good. The tempura was also excellent. I do recommend this restaurant for Japanese food in Hayward!

“Big pieces of fish”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

Reasonable price for thick and big pieces of sushi meat. They have wide range of choices for Japanese food. We have been there four times this year although we drive across two city to reach the resturaunt.
Sushi lover should try this place.

“Good food, nice place.”
Reviewed 21 November 2012

I've been checking this place out over the past few months and finally got the opportunity to have a meal here.

Easy to find and great parking. I arrived just as they were opening at 5pm for really late lunch/early dinner so we were seated right away. The interior is nicely decorated and spacious. It's a pretty large place.
The menu was fairly "sushi joint" typical with a few surprises, like bacon wrapped asparagus (crispy and delicious). The waitress served water and a small bowl of edemame pods for the table (the edamame beans were good but the pods were tough to open; very weird).

The miso soup was good, the rainbow roll came with good sized "slabs" of fish on it, the spider roll was killer good, beef teriyaki was served sizzling on an iron plate & tasted great, the spicy tuna hand-rolls weren't so spicy and the tuna was minced to a paste (good, but not the way I like it).

Overall we all liked it and the pricing was very reasonable.
