If you are in need of accommodations in Sonoma, this is THE place to stay in THE town to stay in. My wife and I stayed at the Mansion the last four days of October 2005. It is a bit off-season in wine country, but we were celebrating my 40th birthday, which I know makes us younger than the B&B demographic; but, our experiences have been incredible, making us B&B fans for intimate retreats.

We stayed in the room at the top of the stairs, which in Honor Manison ratings, is a standard room. It was far from standard, with a beautiful antique bed and armoir, and a very large bathroom with footed tub; it only lacked a working fireplace that they remedied by painting a cute/funny fireplace on the wall. I must thank the honest staff/owner for assuring us when booking that we needn't have a larger room, at greater expense, to enjoy our stay.

The staff and owners were attentive and friendly, helping us with directions, wine tours, restaurant suggestions and reservations. They even had a birthday cake in my room upon arrival.

The Mansion was clean and well maintained; the grounds are nicer than most anyplace you will stay, comparable to a converted abbey we stayed-in in Burgundy. The Honor Mansion has an elegant pool area, incredible rose garden, aristocratic croquet lawn, and even basketball and tennis courts for those more ambitious. After a day of touring the patio and coy pond were inviting areas to enjoy an afternoon glass of wine, and relax. I did partake in a wonderful massage in an enclosed cabana by the pool that was arranged through the inn. (a bit cold this time of year; an in-room massage was an option that I declined)

Breakfast was wonderful and unique every morning; they avoid the usual morning fare of omelets and pancakes with fruit. Items such as ice cream and souffles were served instead, with lovely sweet, while smokey sausage. If you have ever experienced a breakfast like the ones served here, you are both unusual and blessed. (of course more traditional fare is available if that is to your liking) Lastly, the seating arrangements for breakfast are tables for two (unless your group is bigger)devided into the parlor and the dining room. There are seats in the windows that allow you to sit beside one another, instead of across, which is a bit more intimate and preferable to my wife and I. If you enjoy conversing with other guests at breakfast, that is easily accomplished as well, becasue you all face toward the center of the room.

I apologize for being so long winded, but, as incredible as they are, the photos and descriptions on the Honor Mansion website do not adequately express the charm, beauty, and comfort of this home. We were "honored" to be guests.

This was our 5th trip to the wine country, but our 1st time staying at the Honor Mansion. This place was without a doubt the only place to stay!! The rooms/suites are equipped with everything a person could want or need. Our suite had its own outdoor spa tub which we used every day. We woke each morning to fresh coffee, biscotti and the morning paper at our door! The breakfast at the Honor Mansion was the best we've ever had. There were always fresh baked cookies and access to an automated espresso machine! We were also within walking distance of downtown Healdsburg.
We are not sure when we will return to the Napa/Sonoma area, but we know for sure where we will stay.... The Honor Mansion!!

We recently returned from a four night stay at The Honor Mansion and what a wonderful stay it was, I didn't want to leave. The B&B is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service. I can't say enough about how wonderful The Honor Mansion is from the gorgeous rooms, the serene grounds, the excellent staff and the breakfast to die for. Thank you Honor Mansion for making such lasting memories......

My wife and I stayed at the Honor Mansion for our 13th wedding anniversary. Unbelievabley great! We stayed in the Garden Suite for 5 nights. No chintz, no potpourri, definately no lump in the bed. We loved the bed and actually spent a lot of time snuggling in bed as this was one of the first trips in a long time away from kids with privacy. We traveled alot before the kids and we've always stayed in upscale inns or boutique hotels but we can tell you that the Honor Mansion is by far the best we've ever been to with the exception of larger resort hotels. The thing we liked most was that we had all the services of a large hotel (except midnight room service) yet felt very pampered and special. The staff called us by name and even put a cake and bottle of wine in our room for our anniversary. Believe me my wife was so impressed that I found this place we'll probably stay married forever. She's pretty picky. She loved the bathroom, granite counters, 2 headed shower and outside spa tub. We even got spa ammenities in a little zipper bag with a loofa sponge. My wife was so impressed She looks for dirt, dust, hair, she found nothing and loved the food especially the fresh cookies and the appetizers which were complimentary along with wine each evening. First class all the way. We can't wait to return. Save the Garden Suite for us!

My husband and I spent our first two nights in wine country at the Honor Mansion. We stayed in the Garden Suite. The suite was nice, but a little pricey ($400!). The room is in the typical B&B style - lots of chintz, florals, potpourri, etc. The bed was not particularly comfortable (large hump in the center made it hard to snuggle) and unfortunately the maid sprayed some country scent in the room which burned the back of my throat (after opening the windows for a few hours and hiding the spray during the rest of our stay things improved).

The bathroom is nice but not spectacular (all of the lotions and other amenities had stickers that claimed they were property of the Honor Mansion - apparently people have a need to take these items out of the rooms?). The fireplace and selection of magazines is a nice touch as is the outdoor jacuzzi. The staff also honored my husband's birthday by placing a cake in our room. Breakfasts were quite yummy and the tennis courts were well-maintained. The daily cocktail hour was nice and included tasty foods and wine.

For a B&B, the Honor Mansion is very nice. My husband and I enjoy modern hotels a bit more and would recommend those with the same tastes check out the Duchamp Hotel also located in Healdsburg. For those who like the B&B scene, the Honor Mansion will meet your every expecation and more.

While it is very important to know that your every need is attended to at the Honor Mansion, it is more important to know that it is done with such elegance and style that you don't notice. You simply are not lacking for anything, as though that is the way it always is. There is peace and quiet and not a soul around if that is what you are looking for. There is attentive and knowledgeable staff around if that is what you are looking for. After a day of peace and quiet we enjoyed meeting our fellow lodgers at the evening wine tasting. If we didn't want to meet them we had complimentary wine in our room and stayed to ourselves. This is what makes the fabulous breakfast, the wonderful rooms, the incredible massages and the fun outdoor activities that much more sublime.

We celebrated our 40th Anniversary at this beautiful, warm, well maintained bed and breakfast home. The Wisteria Room was everything we hoped for.The owners and staff were wonderful people who were dedicated to our enjoyment of our four-night stay. Each day was a joy beginning with outstanding, high quality, gourmet and delicious breakfasts, great dining and touring recommendations, 24 hour coffee and espresso, sherry, heart-healthy merengue, a nice local sauvignon blanc, and great cookies. The grounds are beautiful and the ambience most relaxing. We will look forward to our return.
