We stayed at the Honor Mansion for the first part of our honeymoon and I'm so glad I chose this place!! I expected a very nice experience, but this place really pulled out all the stops. We arrived right at the end of their cocktail hour, but they left out the stuff a little longer for us so we could enjoy some wine and cheese. We actually had some wine from a nearby winery, which prompted us to visit there on our trip!

The owner sat down with us after breakfast the next day to go over the area and make recommendations and give us a tour of the entire place. We were truly impressed with him as well as all the staff. The food and drinks served for breakfast were phenomenal (and coming from me that means a lot because I am a very picky eater).

The accomodations were beautiful. We stayed in the Garden Suite. The only issue we had was with the toilet - and they immediately fixed it once we brought it up. The grounds are lovely - and I wish we were there longer (and in warmer weather) to enjoy them. This place would be awesome with a group of friends. The putting greens, croquet, bocce ball etc would make for some good times.

Healdsburg in general was also very impressive. If you like Zinfandel wine -this is the place to go!!! We only visited a few wineries..but some of our favorites were Mauritson and Dutcher Crossing. Zin Restaurant restaurant was good, and so was the Seafood place...I forget the name. A local casual joint recommended by the owner of the Honor Mansion.

If you have time, drive up to Armstrong Woods. Its a gorgeous national park with towering Redwoods. Outstanding! You can stop at Korbel on the way back.too!

The shopping in town was great. Such cute shops and you can buy food at that local marketstore and take with you to Wineries.

If you are planning to come to Healdsburg, I cannot imagine a better place to stay. You will not be disappointed!!!

From our welcome to our day of departure, the staff made every effort to help us and make us feel like a guest in their excellent home. Since the inn wasn't fully booked we had the option to upgrade our room to the garden suite from the cottage. Both were stunning but the garden suite was a bit bigger so we chose the upgrade. I wish the weather were warmer and I would have liked soaking in the outdoor hot tub which is part of the suite. The breakfasts were delicious as well as the daily home made cookies. The beds and room were quite comfortable and I can't think of anything to improve it.. The inn is not on the main square of Healdsburg but it was a nice walk to get there if you don't feel like driving. We are certain to return.

We stayed at Honor this November and can't say enough wonderful things about it. From the upgrade to a suite to the delicious breakfasts to the friendly and helpful staff, everything was first rate. We stayed in a vineyard suite. We were greeted by Mandy when we arrived and she was very personable and helpful, as was the entire staff the whole time we were there. There was a delicious cake and a bottle of wine in our room to help us celebrate our anniversary. The room had an outdoor jetted tub that was so nice to have after a hard day of...well, drinking wine. But still, it was very nice. The linens were all very nice, the room was beautifully appointed and very clean. Coffee was delivered to our door every morning before breakfast, with delicious little biscotti and a paper. That was an extra nice perk for us, since we were still running on CST and woke up quite a bit before breakfast!
Breakfast was delicious all three days. I particularly liked the eggs benedict, but the stuffed french toast was a close second. And the berry mimosa was great, too.
All of the winery and restaurants were spot on. Nataly made reservations for us at Zin before we arrived and it was excellent. I also have to thank Amanda for her recommendation of Healdsburg Bar and Grill, because that was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time (and get the sweet potato fries too. SO good)! Seghesio winery is within walking distance of the inn and had great wine, especially the petit sirah. We drove downtown because it was raining, but it was definitely within walking distance in dry weather.
We came on this trip to relax and reconnect and Honor Mansion made it an even better vacation than we could have imagined. We picked up cold bug on the last day and our room was so nice we didn't even feel guilty about spending most of that day in the room, which I have to say I have never felt on a trip ever. It didn't feel like wasted time at all!
Honor Mansion exceeded all our expectations and we will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone headed to wine country!

Stayed four nights in late Oct/09 and we were really wowed by how nice this place and staff are. Everything down to the finest detail is nearly perfect. Gourmet breakfasts with mimosas every morning in the beautiful patio with pond, neverending 24hr supply of baked goodies and beverages, impeccable grounds with tennis, bocce and a stunning pool, luxury suites with all the amenities, and a wonderful staff that was very friendly and informative. The Honor Mansion definitely lived up to the rave reviews it gets on trip advisor. Its expensive but worth it. And the daily late afternoon wine tastings were also fantastic.

My husband and I just returned from a trip to the Sonoma area. I am a very picky and discriminate traveler that can usually find flaws at any location we're staying. This is truly the first time that I cannot think of anything negative to say except I was sad to leave such a luxurious yet quaint locale. Like many of the other posters, we were thrilled to be upgraded to the Squire's Cottage. That was such a treat and so warm and inviting. They really think of every little detail from the wonderful travel size toiletries to the abundance of cookies and beverages. I think that the biscotti consumption skyrocketed while we were there. I'd love to get my hands on that recipe - what a treat! What impressed me the most was how down to earth, genuine and kind the staff was. It's rare to find that at such a top notch place. The staff and owners were approachable and felt like good friends by the time we left. Steve really took his time with us when suggesting places to visit in the Sonoma and Napa areas. His recommendations were spot on. They were so good that we ended up shipping a fair amount of wine home. I could go on and on but will just say THANK YOU to the Honor Mansion for your warmth, hospitality and wonderful memories!

On a trip to the Sonoma wine country, we stayed at Honor Mansion for three nights April 27-29, 2009 on the wonderful recommendation of our daughter and husband who had spent several nights there in November 2008. We too discovered what a luxurious and absolutely perfect B&B the Honor Mansion was! First, we were surprised to find out that we had been upgraded from a room in the mansion to The Squire’s Cottage! Words can’t describe how perfect in everyway the cottage was for a romantic get away, including the fireplace, music playing, and bottle of wine waiting on our arrival. Cathi and Steve have thought of everything you might need to make your stay “perfect”! One is made to feel so relaxed in a very luxurious and pampered atmosphere. We loved the appetizer and wine hour to socialize with other guests, the beautiful gourmet breakfasts and mimosas that were served each morning and the staff that did everything possible to make your visit perfect. Steve was so helpful, after breakfast each morning, to help us map out which area wineries to visit that day. We loved visiting with Cathi and learning about the history of their home and about Healdsburg, and talking about her delicious gourmet recipes she served for breakfast. The staff was very helpful in recommending restaurants and making dinner reservations for us. We enjoyed relaxing in the late afternoons by the pool, having lemonade and fresh baked cookies, and strolling around the beautiful property. The roses were amazing! After staying at Honor Mansion, we now use it as a comparison for how the top B&Bs in the U.S. and Europe should really be like!!
