Chris has a beautiful home in an incredible location. The room (Michael's room) was not only spotlessly clean, but spacious and charming. The bathroom was extremely large with spa tub and large walk-in shower. The setting is quiet and views from the room afforded spectacular scenery from each window. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and around the fire pit enjoying wine and views of vineyards. Without question-will definitely be staying with Chris again-and again! She is funny, welcoming, and a gracious hostess. Don't miss staying here-the location is incredible.

My husband and I were in California for a family wedding in mid-October and decided to extend our stay with a visit to Wine Country. We certainly lucked out choosing Headlsburg as our base - and extra benefit of landing at The Irish Rose. Stay included entrace to over 100 wineries - a little much even for us!! Chris and Lanny were excellent hosts with great recommendations on wineries and restaurants and ability to get reservations at prime spots on short notice. We enjoyed visiting with our fellow house guests - one couple was from Japan - very interesting to share backgrounds and stories. We always enjoy the ambiance and warmth of Bed and Breakfasts - and this one did not disappoint!!

Room Tip: We stayed in the back cottage - very private.

This was mine and my husband's first time staying at a bed and breakfast,so we were a little hesitant-especially my husband. But let me tell you,we enjoyed our 2 nites at Irish Rose. Chris and Lenny were so friendly and accomadating and made us feel so welcome. The property is in such a beautiful area of Sonoma County surrounded by vineyards, making our stay so peaceful and relaxing. We really enjoyed seeing all the animals here too-horses,a pig, dogs, cats, and chickens. We received a wine tasting pass for over 100 wineries which was very nice and had a nice hot breakfast both mornings that we were here. All in all,we had a great and relaxing time, and felt like we were part of the family. We will definitely be back and recommend this place to friends and family.

I doubt Chris and Lanny need another rave review, but here it is anyway. We just spent three "getaway" nights at their B&B, the Irish Rose, located in an externally nondescript farm house about 3 miles north of downtown Healdsburg. It's situated in the middle of vineyards which, in late October, were beginning to blaze with Fall color. You'll probably be greeted first by one of the two horses corralled along the driveway, then by one of the resident chickens (there are 15 or so) scratching in the front yard grass for bugs. Then, if lucky, by the house cat lounging in one of the chairs on the large front porch who loves to be chuckled under the chin (and just about everywhere else for that matter). The downstairs is comfortable and homey, with lots of mementos of Chris & Lanny's family and their prior lives as active horse folk (Morgans, I believe). This is not your Martha Stewart, antique-filled cutsey parlor, but a room where folks actually lived. So, turn your "precious" dial down a notch, kick back and become part of the family. The interior architecture is craftsmaney, with a great dining-room table that held all eight of us guests quite nicely for Lanny's excellent (and filling) breakfasts, something different each morning. We especially liked his superb bread pudding with maple syrup. Oh, yes. There is one guest room downstairs, which opens directly to the main room. Two rooms are upstairs, generously sized. All have private baths. Ours was big enough to be a locker room for a fair-sized team, complete with a jetted soaking tub and separate shower stall, big enough to actually wash without banging your elbows on the walls, or for two. But that's another story. Our room had a canopied bed, which the others lacked, and a comfortably firm mattress. While there is a large wardrobe for hanging clothes, there was only one shallow drawer for folded things, so we lived out of our suitcases for those items. The room was dead quiet all night, so we enjoyed a good sleep. Our evening view was of the sun setting over the vineyard, and the morning sight was of fog crouching over everything. Peace. There is a separate cottage in the rear yard, for the fourth accommodation. We didn't check it out, but the couple staying there were very happy. Chris and Lanny are wonderful hosts, know the area thoroughly, and are very helpful in recommending restaurants and even making reservations for you. The drive into town took only minutes, and is beautiful. There are other B&B's right in town, and we passed by one we recognized that was booked up when we tried to make reservations. I'm glad it was. It was right on the main road, and still a fair walk to the town square. We so much more enjoyed being a short drive from the village, out in the vineyards (walking distance to several wineries, as well as to the "famed" country store just up the road). There is plenty of free parking in Healdsburg, so don't be concerned about that. This is a beautiful area (our first time there), and we want to go back. To the Irish Rose, of course.

From the moment we arrived at the Irish Rose Bed and Breakfast we felt welcome. The host made sure we were settled in and showed us around the Inn. It was a difficult time away from our home in Colorado to honor my Dad at a memorial service there near his home. We were glad we chose the Irish Rose B and B. We discovered the owners to be compassionate and supportive, and they made us feel at home away from home. The room was comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. We would recommend this lovely home to others.

Room Tip: Our room was downstairs and we found it cool and comfortable with a king size bed for a reasonable p...

Absolutely loved this place. Chris and Lanny made it seem so homey. They were a true joy to visit with. Loved the location and the room was beautiful and very roomy. Loved looking out the window at the horses and the vineyard beyond. Very beautiful. Would highly recommend it.

Room Tip: We had the king size room and it was very very nice.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary in Healdsburg this year, and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations than those we received at the Irish Rose Inn. The moment we arrived we were greeted on the front porch by Chris, who offered us some cheese from the platter she had just brought out to the other guests. We introduced ourselves and were shown to Michael's Room, which is even more lovely than it appears on the website.

After a fabulous dinner at Scopa and a stroll along the town square, we returned to our room and enjoyed our sparkling wine (which Chris kindly chilled for us), spa tub, and luxurious king-sized bed. The next morning, Chris and Lenny treated us to a homemade breakfast complete with fruit, bagels, casserole, coffee, and juice. We didn't get to taste Chris' famous french toast souffle, but we were promised that it would be on the menu the next time we stay at the Irish Rose...and there definitely will be a next time.
