“Great location, great hotel!”
Reviewed 31 October 2011

We stayed in this hotel while touring wine country in October 2011. We chose Healsburg as our "base of operations" while visiting wineries on the Sonoma side. The town is very cute - if you stay here, you are within walking distance of several great restaurants and a few good bars. H2 itself has a wonderful spa-like feel, without the spa. The spa is located at their sister property, Hotel Healdsburg, just down the street. We took advantage of the "solar-heated" pool, the complimentary continental breakfast, and free flowing water every day. After hectic days touring the wineries, trying to fit them all in, this was a wonderful place to relax after each day. Definitely worth the extra money to stay at a great place in town. We shared an ecosuite with a friend - the sofa bed was apparently very comfortable, and it was more than enough space for the three of us.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Healdsburg Avenue getting a little loud with traffic noise. Trucks were barreling thou...

I called to hotel and made a reservation for a weekend stay. They got all my credit card info and explained to me that I am in the 14 cancelation window and the reservation is non refundable etc. they even made restaurant reservations for me.

When I showed up at the hotel I was told that they are fully booked and cannot find my reservation. They called couple of other properties and everyon one was sold out. There goes a great a weekend - had to head back home :(

I suggest that you have your confirmation email printed out and in hand when you show up there. It might be a good idea to call couple of days before to reconfirm your reservation.
with them. They might be having some system issues.

I absolutely love this place. I am a stickler when it comes to a hotel being clean. This place is absolutely clean and modern. The rooms are very nice and luxurious. They have the "green" vibe going on using recycled/sustainable products. The staff are friendly and helpful giving great tips on places to visit. It has a small boutique feel. The front desk also acts as the front desk for the restaurant. The hotel restaurant is quite nice. They have a great selection of tapas plates which are very tasty. It is nice the restaurant stays open pretty late. We had a late dinner around 10:00. It is a relatively small hotel and finding parking is not the easiest. We managed to find parking across the street. Unfortunately, there is not a designated parking garage. We stayed the second week of June which is not as busy as the middle of the summer. We splurged and purchased the hotel package that includes a spa treatment at the Healdsburg Hotel, the sister hotel to H2 Hotel. The massage was quite nice but it was a little strange to walk across the street to the other hotel. It would have been better if they offer spa treatments at the same hotel. All in all I would definitely come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Check out the hotel website for package deals.

The hotel was warm, inviting, and modern. The spoon fountain out front was creative. We loved the "green" aspects of the whole hotel. Enjoyed the filtered water. The staff was definitely 5 star. Problems..1. The bed was stiff and had a hump in the middle. It was 2 twins converted to a king.. 2. The green trail package had 5 wineries to visit, 3 needed reservations, but they did not answer the phone. Boo. This should be set up by the hotel or the information should be given to the visitor prior to visit.

Room Tip: Do not buy The Green Trail package. Just get a winery map from the front desk and go on your own.

My husband and I visited Healdsburg October 18-19 and had a terrific stay at the H2hotel. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very relaxing. We appreciated the nice touches like the refrigerator stocked with still and sparkling water, a big burlap picnic bag that we could take on our Dry Creek Valley adventures, the green bath products, and a healthy breakfast that included fruit, yougurt, gluten-free options. Most of all, we liked the location--we were able to walk to dinner (Scopa if you can get a reservation), a nearby gourmet grocery, and coffee shop on Healdsburg's Plaza. All of the hotel staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Spoonbar was packed both nights we were in town (with locals) but we were able to find nice spot in the comfortable extended lounge area. The small pool area is also great place to read and relax.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 4th floor face the wooded area in the back and are very quiet.

We thought the hotel was beautiful. Loved the emphasis on "green" and the large jugs of cold, filtered water in the rooms. It was very comfortable. The best attribute, however, was the staff at the front desk. My sister and I had trouble getting all 4 nights of our stay at one hotel. They spent a lot of time, getting us the room when a cancellation occurred and cancelling our rooms at their sister hotel. We were able to stay there all 4 nights instead of moving around - because of their help. They were also very helpful with transportation. I loved the hotel, but the staff was exceptional.

My new husband and I stayed here for 3 nights on our honeymoon and would definitely recommend it.

The room we selected (the middle category) was fantastic. It smelled amazing and was very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the water bar on the floor was great! We also used the computer and printer which was very convenient (we found a lot of 2 for 1 or reduced wine tastings which was great!). The toiletries in the bathroom were awesome also. It had two balconies, which would have been great if it wasn't raining :(. We were on the inside so can't comment on the street noise.

The breakfast is good. The granola is yummy and seems homemade, and the croissants are fantastic (on par with France). We had some frittata available for 2 mornings which was cold but the staff heated it up for me no problem which was great!

We didn't hit SpoonBar for food, but the drinks were amazing and it was a fun place. The hotel is close to many restaurants - very convenient for walking to lunch or dinner.

The only downside to our visit was a small incident regarding a wine glass. We had a govino glass that was thrown out by the cleaning staff by mistake, and when we brought it up to the front desk, they were pretty indifferent and not very helpful. It was left up in the air and not followed up on, which was too bad. If the item had been worth more money, we would have had to follow up again.
We didn't really need the staff during our trip, but they seemed a bit indifferent (but not unpleasant/unkind).

It was raining when we were there, so we didn't take advantage of the bikes but they seem like a great option.

The hotel is fairly close to Napa (about 45 minutes), and very close to the Healdsburg wineries (go to Dry Creek if you can - they're awesome).
