“Another great stay!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 December 2013

Hotel Healdsburg is ideally situated in the heart of quaint downtown Healdsburg. I highly recommend spending a couple nights in town. The service is very good. The included valet parking and breakfast each morning make the stay easy. We have visited 3 times over the last 10 years and find the hotel still in good shape. The room was very comfortable and had plenty of amenities.

Room Tip: The basic King room is more than adequate.

We have stayed at the Hotel Healdsburg twice now. The hotel itself is a modern style and perhaps a bit spartan in the hallways. The rooms are also decorated in a modern, clean style. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, and our bathroom had both shower and tub. We were on the third floor with a small balcony that faced the Bear Republic Brewing Company restaurant so it was a little noisy.

The staff was very efficient and helpful. There is "free" valet parking (no in/out charges), and the valets were all very friendly and courteous. The concierge was helpful in recommending and booking tastings at a couple of wineries that we had interest in.

There is a "free" buffet breakfast downstairs every morning. The pastries and croissants were quite good, and the orange juice was fresh squeezed. They also had smoked salmon while we were there. Eggs of any style can be ordered.

On the down side, the hotel is showing a bit of wear and tear around the edges. Nothing serious, but the rooms could probably use some cosmetic maintenance.

On the whole, it was still a nice and convenient place to stay in Healdsburg. It could be a bit pricey for some, but the amenities and location were worth it to us. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: higher floors facing into the courtyards may be quieter

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Healdsburg for a weekend getaway. The hotel was nicely decorated for the holidays and we liked the eco chic design. The check-in process was fast and the front desk folks were friendly.

Our room was on the 4th floor facing the main street. The room was freezing when we entered even though the temperature said it was about 70 degrees. We made sure the thermostat was set to auto just in case it wasn't on. We left for about 1.5 hours only to come back to a still freezing room. A staff member came up to check out the issue and wasn't sure why the heat wasn't working. He said no other guests were having the same issue and that it may be because of the cold spell. He offered a different room but we didn't want to change given we were only staying for 1 night. Instead, he brought us a space heater, which helped but only if we remained around the bed area. Also, the bathroom had a tile floor so it was even colder every time we went inside. We made it through the night but this issue definitely affected our stay.

In a lot of reviews for the hotel, the guests raved about the breakfast. Unfortunately, we didn't see what was so special about the food. We sat down about 45 mins before breakfast was supposed to end but there was barely much food left. We thought they would replenish the trays but they never did. Since they were still making omelets and waffles, the food was plenty but it's just odd that they didn't bring more food if breakfast wasn't over yet.

The hotel has opportunities to wow guests but it doesn't quite seem like it's a priority for the staff. There are also just little things that add to a less than ideal experience. For example, it's really nice that housekeeping does turn down but they should also replenish the snacks in the fridge if they are going to do so. The pump for the lotion was also broken, which isn't a huge deal, but it again is a little thing that adds to a less than ideal experience.

Overall, the location of the hotel is great. The decor is nice and modern with pretty good amenities. However, given the cost of staying there, it's not worth the value.

We recently took 2 rooms at Hotel Healdsburg for a family getaway: a jr. Suite and a standard room. The suite was on the north side of the hotel. It was quite noisy at night as celebrants were making their way home through the passageway that connects the street to the nearby parking lot. Also, at about 2:30am someone dumps wine bottles nearby. So, don't stay on the north side. Our other room was on the east side and was very quite.other than the noise this is a great place. Breakfast is particularly notable.

This hotel is in an excellent location is downtown Healdsburg, and I can only think that it is the location that allows this hotel to justify such high rates. At $200 - $250, I would have given this place 5 stars, but we've had much better value for money at such places as Cavallo Lodge or Carmel Valley Ranch.

The rooms are nice, but the air conditioning / heating is incredibly noisy. We had a room overlooking the Bear Republic Brewery so got disturbed each night as people left the establishment. The hotel provided complimentary soft drinks and snacks, but they didn't get replenished, which is always something that annoys me when you stay multiple nights.

The biggest let down was the lobby / bar area - it just isn't big enough for the hotel. The lobby area also serves complimentary breakfast each morning. The food was outstanding, but you had to wait for a table, and the poor staff were just rushed of their feet and it was 15 minute wait for eggs. Maybe the hotel should invest in more staff, rather than taking so much profit.

Stayed with family of 5. Nicely designed hotel and friendly staff. The room didn't feel like a hotel room, but rather a house. Nice dark wood floors, open, airy, lot's of space and nice seating and beds in hotel rooms. We had a double with a roll-out bed overlooking the central town square. Nice breakfast and you can order in from two restaurants on ground floor (we didn't). Took a nice bike ride with hotel bikes. All in all, a great place to stay in Healdsburg. On the expensive side, but very nice.

This is a good property with nice amenities but the room was way too expensive for the experience. At $500/night, I don't expect to find a dead bug near the bed and to be escorting a lady bug out of my room. While I appreciated the included breakfast, valet parking, bath salts and snacks in the room, I just don't think that the value matched the price. I would expect a really special room, turndown service with more than a hockey puck madeline and maybe coffee service delivered to my room or something really out of the ordinary to garner that price. I would also expect them to put in double-paned windows to control the noise. I've stayed in some nice hotels and been pleasantly surprised but this wasn't one of those experiences. The staff, however, is incredibly friendly and helpful.
