This restaurant has lots of character, lots of wood inside, and a lovely outdoor patio. The bar area is lovely and modern rustic. There is very comfortable seating inside, but on a sunny day we didn't want to miss the outdoor. One drawback is that the decorative wrought-iron fenced outdoor area fronts a very busy street. It's best to get seats towards the back of the property.
The menu is quite large with plenty of unique takes on popular foods - hamburgers, shakes, french fries, fish and chips, soup, sandwiches, and salads. Al the choices we tried were fantastic.
My sister-in-law and I shared a beet salad and I ordered a hamburger. This was the most delicious hamburger I've ever eaten. The meat only comes medium rare which is deep with some pink. The meat was plentiful and very nicely seasoned. The curly leaf lettuce and bread were top notch. The full hamburger was large enough to share, though I didn't want to.
Other orders were mac-n-cheese, a vanilla shake, french fries, and fish and chips. The later was a twist on traditional, crisp but not greasy; the fish was very fresh. The mac-n-cheese was very unique, very creamy, and thick with at least three different types of cheese (including blue cheese). The milk shake was very creamy and sweet. French fries were thin, crispy, and not greasy. I wish, however, that we'd ordered the sweet potato fries as it would have added a nice sweetness.
The staff was friendly, accommodating and courteous. The restaurant was very busy at lunch time, but we were never neglected.
I definitely recommend this place for lunch, dinner, and drinks. It's friendly, fun, and has great food.
