We stopped here on the recommendation of Steve Fowler at the Honor Mansion in Healdsburg. Once we told them this they waived our tasting fee which is nice that they have arrangements with some of the local B&B 's. We mostly wanted to try their wines because many of them come from an appellation called "rock pile" and we love the taste of wines from there. Mauritsons did not disappoint. Our pourer was very friendly and knowledgable and we left with a few bottles including their Port and Cab Franc. Delightful wines reasonably priced. We look forward to visiting again.

As many of the reviews correctly state, the wine is very good and well priced. The lovely Lab lazing in the sun was very sweet as well. A welcoming atmosphere with a knowledgable young lady pouring made for a great experience. This was our first visit to Dry Creek and their wines were easily in the tops that we tasted, especially when you factor in the price, not cheap by any means but a great value for sure. We purchased Rock Pile Independence 2009 Red Wine which is a blend, very nice balance and will be fantastic as a food wine, we'll definitely be looking forward to opening that up for dinner very soon! Our tasting fee was of course comped when we purchased, I include this because I read in another review that they did not do so for their tasting, I am truly surprised and guarantee you that they should have said something because these lovely people would have corrected that error in a heartbeat, they are anything but greedy...a ridiculous statement!
Do yourself a favor and stop by as you enter Dry Creek, you won't regret it and give the puppy a nice pat on the head, she loves it ;-)

Mauritson tasting room was a fun , unpretentious experience. Staff was eager to pour their many delicious wines. Try the Rockpile vineyard Zins. Excellent! Look for the red umbrellas and picnic tables.

We were lucky to go to a Wine Maker's Dinner at Scopa and meet Clay Mauritson and then go to the winery for a tasting. We hadn't had their wines before and it was a great opportunity to taste some really wonderful wines. You should stop and try these wines.

Our experience in the tasting room left a lot to be desired. The wines themselves are not the best offerings - across the board - in Sonoma. The tasting fee was NOT waived, even though we purchased two bottles of wine. We were told that one of the wines was from Single Soil Vineyard, but did not have a clear definition for that term. There are so many great tasting rooms and more well rounded wines in the area, that I would not recommend stopping here. Try Ramazotti, Christoper Creek, Pezzi King, D'Lorimier and Forchini, for knowledgeable staff and great wines.
