We dined at Scopa (another review) and chose the Rock Pile Zin. We had to stop by the winery. We arrived at 10:30 in the morning and enjoyed our visit. The lady behind the counter was not average and knew the wine. We had to take a couple bottles of Zin with us and living in the Sacramento Valley we are surrounded by Zin producers. The Rock Pile Zin was the best we've encountered.

After a few inside tastings at other wineries, we happened upon Mauritson's self-guided vineyard tour and were delighted to be "out in the field." Afterward, the hostess gave us several samples of different wines she thought might complement the artisan cheese and fresh produce we had bought that morning at the Healdsburg Farmer's Market. We made our choice then went outside to the shaded picnic area adjacent to the fields and the winery and had a most memorable lunch. In all ways, this seemed like one of the friendlier, family-oriented, unhurried places we tried.

This is a must stop for wine lovers. They always have the best Zins. I'm not a Pinot person, but the Charlie Clay Pinot Noir is extremely well done. Delicious wines all around. Can't wait to go back!

Honor Mansion recommend Mauritson and we were very impressed. Well worth the visit and the wine is outstanding. They also have a very interesting port that we purchased.

Our first adventure to the dry creek region of Alexander valley....and it did not disappoint! Lee was an awesome host, explained the wines and the appellation and made the whole tasting wonderful! She was very informative and engaging... Would recommend to all for certain!
