Our experience at Lancaster was a lot of fun. Everyone was enthusiastic about the wines and the property and cordial and pleasant to be around. The property itself was a great mix if elegance and approachability, you felt very comfortable there but in a pristine setting. We played a little cornhole outside as we awaited the beginning of the tour, had a first glass while we did, then proceeded to the cave to learn about the wines and sit down to our more formal tasting there in the cave. We were pleasantly surprised by each wine we tasted having never heard of Lancaster before this trip. We joined the wine club and can't wait to revisit their offerings from home. Highly recommend giving them a try!
We love this place in fact we went to this place twice. Had a wonderful cheese and wine paring with Thomas. Thomas provided excellent feedback and knowledge of the product. The staff is very nice and provided suggestions of dining places and other places to visit.
It is a great informative tour and some terrific wine. Our guide, Rebecca was an excellent guide. The tasting room in the caves is gorgeous.
We stopped at Lancaster on a whim as we were ahead of schedule in our day of tasting and I am very glad we did. The tasting room is not very large but it is very nicely decorated and welcoming. We set up our little picnic in the sitting area since it was a very rainy day and there were very few customers. Staff was pleasant and knowledgable. Their cabs of multiple varieties were are very complex and bold in their own ways. We left with a smile and a bottle!
We visited Lancaster for their release party this year. Heather and Alicia took good care of use. They had the Malbac wine open for tasting, which is a rarity. The food served at the dinner was scrumptious and was prepared by Chef Annie at Chalk Hill. We enjoyed the tastings in the wine cave and got an extra special tasting for being members.
Wonderful tasting experience. The Reserve Sauv Blanc and Cab blends were among the best we tasted. The picnic area is secluded and quiet. A few yellow jackets to contend with but they are after meat and soft drinks. We are so happy that Lancaster is part of the Foley Food and Wine group and look forward to visiting them again.
