My friend and I have come the last five years because of the Epicurian Package that the Inn on the Square offers with Cyrus.
We stayed in room #3 which is on the Square, a large bright room with high ceilings, and big windows. The room is showing signs of age, carpeting and upholstery worn, pillow lumpy and hard, tile in bathrooms stained and chipped. There is no docking station for ipod or mp3 players in the room. Beware the street noise if you stay in this room, you are trading a quiet night for a larger brighter room.
The staff is able and efficient and responded to requests immediately. The breakfasts are fine, a couple of hot dishes, fruit, muffins, toast, etc. There is a wine and cheese offering in the evening in their upstairs dining area.
All in all it is a pleasant place to stay but needs some upgrades to their rooms to compete with similar priced hotels in the area.

My fiance and I planned a trip to San Francisco & Sonoma Valley. A friend had been to Healdsburg and said that we would like it, so we found this Inn online and booked a Superior King Spa room.

We rented a car and drove about 1.5 hours from San Francisco Airport to arrive in Healdsburg. Its a beautiful, quaint small town.

We arrived at the Inn at 10am (check in is at 3pm). Wanda at the front desk had the staff clean an available room for us immediately so we could check in early.

The room was big, clean, and bright. The bathroom spacious and had an amazing 2 person jetted tub and separate shower. All of the furniture in the room was newer and modern. And we even had a fireplace!

We felt like we were at home at this Inn. Everyday between 4-6pm they serve complimentary wine & appies, and every morning you have a full buffet breakfast with amazing home cooked food. The dining room was cozy and shared with the rest of the guests, so you felt like you were right at home.

The staff were so friendly and accomodating, there was nothing they wouldnt do to keep their guests happy.

We also did a private wine tour while in Healdsburg with Gene Warren of Healdsburg Area Winery Tours. This was the highlight of our trip. For only $100 per person Gene picked us up from our hotel and drove us around to different wineries from 10:00am to 5pm and gave us exceptional, personalized service. We cant say enough about Gene and the fun we had tasting wines and learning more about the Sonoma Valley. I would recommend this tour over any other. Check out their website at: http://www.healdsburgareawinerytours.com/

We only stayed at the Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza for one night, but this Inn left a lasting impression for us and we will definately go back!

We had stayed before at the Hotel Healdsburg across the street and tho we enjoyed our stay there very much, I was looking for something a little more cozy and homey for this trip, the Inn @ the Plaza was exactly what I was looking for and exceeded my expectations. Let it be known that was the ONLY place I could find in the entire Healdsburg area that would allow us a one night stay on a Fri. night which was perfect for us. We wanted to be able to walk to and from Cyrus and the Inn on the Plaza is walking distance to Cyrus and several very nice restaurants in Healdsburg.

We checked in after a nice lunch at Meadowood in St. Helena and were give an upstairs room with King bed, fireplace, balcony, small work station and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom which was soooo nice for soak after returning from dinner that evening. We took part in the wine and cheese reception that was going on when we arrived, the room is spacious and the trees were all blooming the pretty white flowers, there were lots of windows, also and a skylight in this room. After dinner at Cyrus we enjoyed a nice walk back to the Inn and there had been turndown service with mints on the pillows which were a nice touch.

Our bed was very comfy and there was a skylight above it. The wireless internet was complimentary and worked very well, I brought my netbook and no trouble working on it from the room. In the morning I woke early and went and got coffee and chatted with the breakfast cook who was very nice. The breakfast is from 8:30-10:00 and consisted of fresh fruit, juice, 3 cooked items and Pineapple muffins. There was a really yummy sweet Pear and Cream dish that the cook insisted we tried, it was soooo good! Loved our breakfast here.

We asked the concierge for tasting passes in the area and Wanda gave us several. She brought out maps and was very informative about the wineries in the area and the tasting rooms around the Plaza. She suggested we go up to Ferrari-Carano and we were glad we took her advice. This was a beautiful winery and we may have missed it if were not for dear Wanda! We returned to the Inn, packed and left with wonderful memories of the Healdsburg area. After check out we went to Willi's Seafood and Raw Bar for lunch which was very good and did some wine tasting at Kendall Jackson, Wanda gave us the Reserve passes and everything was excellent. We especially enjoyed the Late Harvest Chardonnay which we purchased.

I highly recommend this charming little inn with so much personality for anyone looking for a smaller Inn in a great location with warm, personable service. I hope to return again and again to the Inn on the Plaza while visiting Healdsburg.

This Inn was outstanding. The staff, the location and the accomodations were all outstanding.

The staff, starting with the homemade and baked on site breakfast, cookies and afternoon snacks all made by this lovely woman. The front desk staff truly know what places to eat at and where to go wine tasting. Jennifer the manager was kind enough to forward some bags we left behind. They all add a very personal touch to this Inn.

I would highly recommend this place to everyone, and I would have stayed longer and not bothered to go to Yountville.

This is a great little Inn right on the Plaza. It had a great location in walking distance to many great restaurants and unique shops. Tuesdays they have a farmer's market on the plaza. The hotel itself is great. The staff was courteous and knowledgable. The directed us to some great wineries and gave us cards for free tastings at several.

Beware of which room you chose because it could make or break your stay. We were in room 11 which was tiny and had a view of the alley. The bed was uncomfortable too. The folks we talked to on the 1st floor in room 1- the handicap room- said their room was very big, but noisy with the elevator and trash truck noise. Rooms 3,4,5,6 are on the 2nd floor and have the ideal view of the plaza. Rooms 7, 8, 9 & 10 are on the back and have decks that look through trees to a parking lot. All the rooms are much larger than room 11 that we booked which was very small.

Overall, I would recommend the hotel, but not room 1 or 2 on the 1st floor or room 11 on the 2nd floor.

I thought that the breakfasts were great, they offer free soda and soft drinks throughout the day. And you can check out bikes, videos, games and books. The cookies were not so good.

  • Liked — Location! Location! Location!
  • Disliked — The particular room we had was small and uncomfortable, would try another though.

From the lumpy hard pillows to the motel style breakfast buffet, we were disappointed on almost all aspect of this Four Sisters managed property. It was expensive $300. Wrote management and never received a reply. Would never stay at ANY Four Sisters Inns again!

  • Liked — location
  • Disliked — terrible accomodations for price - bed spread doubled as comforter, pillows lumpy, linens industrial grade, toilet loose, shower head calcified, motel buffet food, stale chocolates.....

We have just returned from our 2nd stay at Healdsburg Inn on the Plaza. It was wonderful once again. This is an inn of about 10 rooms (apx). It is more on the modern side (think Pottery Barn) than what I usually think of when I hear "Inn". It is very clean and well kept. The breakfasts are delicious. The staff is attentive and helpful. Heladsburg is a great town with many places to eat. It is a great location if you want to do the northern Sonoma wineries (Dry Creek, Russian River, Alexander Valley) or lower Sonoma. We loved, loved, loved it again.
