We enjoyed this beautiful place for one night. Dane and Rita are wonderful friendly people and the perfect hosts. The rooms are huge and decorated nicely, and the view is spectacular. We particularly enjoyed Danes after breakfast wine tour. We will be back.

We recently spent a night here and plan to return next year. Rita & Dane and their staff are very welcoming hosts. The breakfast was delicious as well as the wine & cheese offered before dinner. The blueberry room was very comfortable and spacious and full of lovely antiques. The views from this lovely old home were breathtaking and it is very conveniently located to Healdsburg and the dry creek wineries. A highlight of our stay was Dane's post breakfast tour of his vineyard and wine making. We learned so much about how wine is made. I will highly recommend this B & B to my friends and family.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Raford Inn in the spacious lovely Angelica room. We arrived late and Dane & Rita were there to graciously welcome us. The breakfasts were very tasty and the presentation was beautiful. Everything is exceptionally well maintained and kept up. For us it was a treat to stay in a place that is on the historic registers and, yet be so completely comfortable. Each day Dane, Rita, and the young people who worked for them gave us such good advice about what to do, where to go, have our meals. I know we would have missed opportunities if they weren't there to make recommendations, reservations and directions. Dane did all this for us so we didn't have to spend time taking care of these things ~ we just went and enjoyed. BTW, all their advice was spot on and fabulous. This B&B has a vineyard right out the front door. How nice to see that from the big front porch where we had wine and hors d'oeuvres every evening during happy hour while visiting with the other guests. Dane himself makes wine the old-fashioned way without chemicals, and he took us on a tour of his winery and explained the process. It was a delight listening to him and his philosophy. Also, we took a trip to Armstrong Redwoods State Park and would highly recommend that ~ old, huge, majestic trees. If we come back to wine country, we know we will stay again at the Raford Inn. Thank you again, Dane & Rita, for your wonderful hospitality and sharing your beautiful home with us.

My wife and I spent a night at the Raford Inn in the Lavender Room and can't say enough good things about our experience. This was our first stay at a B&B and it probably spoiled us. We sensed as soon as we pulled into the driveway that the Raford was something special and boy were we right. We arrived late in the afternoon, just in time for wine and cheese on the front porch, watching the hummingbirds and the beautiful sunset. Rita and Sara suggested several great options for dinner and quickly made a reservation for us once we had decided on one. The Inn is beautifully and tastefully decorated. Our room (Lavender) was immaculate and had all the comforts of home. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful - tasty, filling, and just a bit unique (fresh persimmon and figs). Our breakfast conversation with the two other couples that had also spent the night was pleasant and helpful. They had both been there multiple times before, and gave us some great pointers on where to go and what route to take. Our only disappointment was not being able to get a personal tour from Dane of his little winery, as he and Rita had an off-site commitment that morning.
We wish we had known beforehand what the experience was going to be like, we would have booked two nights instead of one. When we return to California we will definitely be back at the Raford Inn.

My wife and I stayed at the Raford for 3 nights. This was a return visit for us. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the Inn and our hosts, Dane and Rita and their staff . They have thought of every little detail needed to make it a comfortable and well appointed Inn. Their location is perfect for exploring the surrounding Sonoma, Napa and Russian River Valley areas including the many wineries. Every night, they offer local wines and prepared appetizers on their wonderful front porch overlooking the vineyards. Breakfasts are varied and delicious. The morning of our departure, Dane gave an informative (and humorous) 1 hr tour of his vineyards and wine making facilities. There is a reason the Raford gets such high marks on Trip Advisor. It deserves them!

Spending 1 night at the Raford Inn on our road trip was a big mistake! 1 night is simply not enough. As other reviewers say, there is so much heart and soul in this place that you will start feeling the second you drive up to the house. Being a busy couple from Copenhagen this place was the best medicine for us in the never ending battle of winding down. I could keep listing things that were nice, but the fact is, that the rest of the reviews tells that story. The wine get-together on the patio in the afternoon, the breakfast with the fellow travelers and of course a walk around the property with Dane (a must-see), where he takes you through the process of live wine-making - getting to taste different varieties and barrels. For a wine lover, this was essential to our stay in wine country, since none of the real commercial wineries showed us this, nor let us taste the wine at different stages.

Thank you Dane & Rita - we hope to be coming back one day.

This is an amazing place with a lot of heart, soul and effort put into it. Definitely worth a stay. Wine at the patio by sunset will make you feel as relaxed as ever. We enjoyed a good nights sleep in the Lavender room followed by great coffee and a solid delicious breakfast the next morning. We will definitely return next time we are in the states.

This classic Victorian Plantation landmark manor house, built in 1880, once presided over a huge empire of hops.
