We spent 3 days at the Raford Inn on the first part of our honeymoon and it could not have been better. We loved the location and views of the vineyards. The rooms were very comfortable and private. Rita and her staff in the kitchen out-do themselves with breakfast every day. Rita and Dana are the perfect hosts, ready to help in planning your day of wine tasting and dinner. We will definitely be back.

Our first experienc at the Raford Inn was overwhelming..
This old, charming place has a wonderful history, and overlooks
the beautiful vineyard of its neighbor.

But the physical attractiveness is only the beginning..
Rita and Dane the proprietors could not have been more
helpful, going out of their way to make our stay so enjoyable
we are sure we will be back again ..
They helped us celebrate our 56th wedding anniversary, and
made us feel very special.
They arranged for special
breakfast guests each day giving everyone an experienc they
could not have planned on, from a vineyard owner to a writer and his staff.
Thanks Rita and Dane for making it all happen.

Physically, the inn is to die for. And the rooms are charming.
But what separates this from the pack are the innkeepers, Dane and Rita, who bring the guests together - at breakfast and evening wine and cheese - in the most wonderful way imaginable. If ever there were the perfect combination of an idyllic location and perfect hosts this is it.
We stayed there at the end of August of 08, but if work hadn't called us back home, my wife and I would have probably stayed until the end of the year!
I am a hard judge of hotels and restaurants, but when someone(s) put their lives into creating something special, as Dane and Rita have done, and succeed as well as they have, then it makes all the questionable experiences fade away.
If ever there was a place my wife and I would return to at the first opportunity, this is it.

We simply loved this B&B.

The location is picturesque, with a wonderful view from the porch and very conveniently located to the nearby vineyards and towns. Some rooms, like ours, have private entry. The staff could not possibly be any more helpful and nice – they provided everything from recommendations to directions to booking reservations and such; and did not frown once at the way I abused they generosity during the daily 5:30 wine and cheese snack, but actually encouraged it :)

I was particularly impressed with breakfasts, which were served as if it were a very nice “tablecloth” restaurant.

All this came at a very reasonable price.

We definitely recommend it.

Just don’t go for a room with a view – it sometimes gets extremely hot in the valley and the less the exposure to sun, the better.

What a great place to stay. Dane and Rita are gracious hosts who make you feel very welcome at their Inn. We come to Healdsburg at least twice a year and we've been looking for that special place that we could keep coming back to year after year. There are 3 couples in our party and we all agreed, we have found it. We highly recommend this Inn. Thanks again Dane and Rita..

After an 11 hour journey from Northern Oregon to "the Raford Inn" we found the brightly lit, majestic looking home as our beacon of hope after a weary day of travel. It didn't matter that we were unable to get there until 11p.m. - Rita was there to greet us and felt compelled to bake a fresh batch of tasty homemade cookies - and yummy they were! Dane greeted us with a smile and showed us old wall photos explaining the interesting history of the Inn. I had no clue California wine country was at first Hopps country!

Then there was breakfast - not too early and not too late. My favorite part about a B&B is how sitting around a table with all the guests invites delightful conversation(from which you can learn a lot) ,and an exchange of ideas, helping to plan an even better vacation. This is then topped off with a scrumptious, eye appealing breakfast served in a friendly, descriptive fashion, filling you for a day of adventure and wine tasting -lots of it.

After a tough day of vacationing you are then invited to a wine tasting every night of various wines from the region - this includes cheese, crackers and fresh fruits along with fresh pastries of the day and home picked fruits from their trees. Some nights we didn't even want dinner. Again, Rita and Dane joined their guests and we all sat together as if around a campfire sharing our experiences of the day and getting to know one
another. It was T.G.I.F. every night and I got to know the guests better than my neighbors - I hated to see them depart before me.

The rooms were kept clean and inviting as were the common areas including the huge front veranda that allowed us to cool off at night watching the beautiful sunset as the moon rose in the east. We also had some other friends - the Hummingbirds that came to feed every night as we sipped our wine, laughed and enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Raford Inn.

Really enjoyable.
Good for those who want an 'interactive' experience on vacation.
All guests sit down together for breakfast- really nice- and I would usually hate such a 'shared' breakfast experience.
Great food.
Great scenery.
Highly recommend.
