“Louisiana food at the beach!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2011

Fantastic food! Real La.- style cooking . It is like a shotgun house, long and narrow, but inside is great food and fun times. One table looks out over the Pacific, so keep your fingers crossed. The seafood platter is out of this World. It is a little pricey, but it easliy feeds two hungry adults. After you enjoy this excellent seafood take a long walk along one of the World's most beautiful beaches.

“Good home cooking!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2011

Great jambalaya and gumbo. The ladies who own the place are very friendly and fun people. It's a little pricey, but you get huge portions and they don't skimp on the ingredients. The jambalaya must have a pound of shrimp in it!

“Consistent Cajun food in a welcoming atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2011

The restaurant has a friendly and warm atmosphere. It's a long and narrow restaurant with plenty of seating at a counter that overlooks the kitchen. The owner and her daughter are almost always there cooking orders as they come in. It truly has a very homemade feel. The food is very consistent and very good. The fried chicken is particularly noteworthy (and large in quantity). The house dressing is also noteworthy. Blackened chicken is another favorite. One friend commented that they saw a cook frying frozen hush puppies, but virtually everything else I have seen appears to be homemade. She can even accommodate vegans, which is pretty impressive when it comes to Cajun cuisine. The food is pricey for Cajun food (and compared to some of the other local restaurants), but this restaurant is unique and worth checking out while in Hermosa. If you like a quaint neighborhood joint with local flavor, you will like this place. It has its best buzz on Friday and Saturday nights.

“New Orleans Style Dining in Hermose Beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2010

Located near the Hermosa Beach Pier the New Orleans Cajun & Creole offers a variety of fish and meat dishes including alligator specialities. They have a remarkable choice of hot and spicy sauces with the highest degree of "hot - comatose level". I went there with friends from Germany for introducing them to Cajun dining. They were surprised o
by the richness, spicy food. They even got used to alligator meet, which comes as an example under the name "Alligator on the Stick" as a starter. Last time I enjoyed the BBQ Ribs with Cajun Style Sauce. The service ist whitty and excellent.

“Yes! Coolest people ever...”

Yes! Coolest people ever work here, they import their ingredients from New Orleans directly. AND if you are nice to them they let you dance on your chairs.
