“A Taste of New Orleans in Hermosa Beach, CA”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 via mobile

Having lived in New Orleans when I see a restaurant that say "New Orleans Food" in LA it's NEVER GOOD! But this time OMG the food, atmosphere, ambiance, & staff are soooo New Orleans. It's like walking into Big Mamas house for Sunday dinner any day of the week to the point where when you're finished eating you have the urge to clear the table and help with the dishes. I love Everything about the place and wish them so much success. @KipenziC

“New Orleans in Hermosa Beach!”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

Amazing Blackened Chicken Po-Boy! Make sure to get is fully dressed with a side of honey covered sweet potato fries! Sandy is the owner and prepares all the meals herself, she's great! You'll most likely be served by Chase who is just as cool and will recommend a great dish for you. The gumbo is also fantastic but the Blacked Chicken Po-Boy is hands down the best sandwich I've ever had, you have to try it!!

“Laissez les bonnes temps roulez!”
Reviewed 7 December 2013 via mobile

What a cozy, cool little Cajun cafe tucked away on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach! I love the ambiance, lighting and art.
The waiter (friend of the owner) is such a genuinely nice mid-westerner (from Chicago). We had gumbo, hush puppies and Cajun blackened chicken. Yummm!! A nice kick to it! And I have to say, the lemon ginger hot tea was INCREDIBLE! Hit the spot on a chilly December evening.
The prices are pretty reasonable and I would most definitely go back again. Would love to try some more menu items, including the side of Mac n' cheese!
Laid back, friendly and low key!
Really enjoyed it!!

“Full of Flavor”
Reviewed 9 September 2013

Overall an excellent taste of the south. The portions are large and you will have plenty to take home. The wait time for seating and service may take some time but DO NOT take that as a bad, it's a small very homely feel and your food is served made to order piping hot!!

“New Orleans Flavor on Steroids”
Reviewed 5 March 2013

This is hands down the best New Orleans creole style restaurant on the West coast when it comes to étouffée & gumbo dishes & the peach cobbler is deliciousness on steroids. Trust me because I'm a native of Mississippi, but now live in Southern California. The food is New Orleans authentic & the owner is from Kenner, Louisiana; she knows what she's doing in the kitchen. They fly their food in fresh from New Orleans on a weekly basis. For anyone that knows a bit about the challenges of finding authentically prepared gumbo & etouffee, the journey honestly stops here. You must eat here & do it soon!!!
