“This is the worse hotel in Highland.”
Reviewed 21 February 2011

This hotel is bad, for $60 a night I expect better, Night clerk was rude, the lights in our room only worked when you moved around. The bed was harder than concrete. The outside looks nothing like the picture. In the pool area there were dressers standing on end visible to anyone driving by or pulling in. That night clerk was totally out of line. When we got there we enquired about a first floor, smoking allowed room. He very rudely told us that he didnt have any available. My girlfriend and I looked at each other and started to discuss other possible options when this moron told us, " What else are you going to do." We had been on the road for over 6 1/2 hours in very slow moving traffic. Tired and not in a good mood we paid the $60 and went to the room. There was no lights on, so I look for the light switch. I find them to find out they are motion activated and if you dont move around in front of the sensor every 30 seconds or so the lights go out, including the one in the bathroom. Two of the lights in the room didnt even have light bulbs in them. So if you ever find yourself in this town of Highland, California and you drive to this Knights Inn do you and your family a favor and drive 3 miles down the road to a hotel called the Hampton Inn. Its about $20 more a night but I am quite sure you will be treated better and the rooms wont have busted lights and a concrete bed in them.

Family operated. We were greeted in a most professional manner. Very happy with the Staff and the upkeep of the hotel, all needs and wants were met. We travel to Highlang quite often, yet this was the first time we stayed here because of the prior poor ratings. We decided to go ahead and give it a try and boy were we glad we did the greeting and service was so good that we immediately cancelled our reservations at the Hampton Inn up the street. There's also a Mexican restaurant next door and the food is fabulous.

i stayed here for one night. it was similar to 2 other knights inn that i have stayed at. at all 3, the continental breakfast was terrible coffee and a dozen glazed donuts from a grocery store. when the donuts ran out, the owner didn't care and was not apologetic. at check-in, the owner was very blase and would not directly answer questions that i had about the room. she acted like she didn't care for my business. the room was large and had a fridge and microwave. the cable tv had only 5 channels. the plumbing was very noisy and the bathroom needed a cleaning. the motel faces a busy highway so there is constant traffic noise- i used the fan for background noise to sleep.

  • Liked — microwave and fridge in room
  • Disliked — the owners poor service

I have had two occasions in the past few months to stay at the Super 8 in Highland. Planning overnights to gamble at San Manuel Indian Reservation, my Friday night stays were a bit frustrating. First I was in a no-smoking room that lingered with smoke smell. Then on both occasions, door locks did not work. Their magnetic keys are very fallible, and returning to room at midnight, I had to awake the owner to get new keys three times. Very frustrating.

Low budget motel at $60 per night, and you do get what you pay for.
