While working in the scenic wine country near Hopland, California recently, a colleague and I decided to stop at The Zinful Chef Cafe for a quick bite - boy were we surprised. We were greeted by Chef/Owners, Sean and Denise Thomas, who were quite enthusiastic about their new resteraunt enterprise.The menu with a "southern-twist" included both lunch and breakfast items... inviting your tastebuds along for a joyous ride into comfort food heaven! We sampled fare ranging from a delicious potato and veggie casserole, topped with a savory creamy sausage gravy and shredded cheese... to a perfectly cooked, over-easy egg, nestled atop a mouthwatering corned beef hash (best I've ever had). We also enjoyed a traditional fried oyster Po'Boy and award-winning pulled pork sandwiches, both served on freshly baked rolls. I would have licked my plate, had I not been afraid of being kicked out of the joint! The ambience is both cool and funky, complete with an impressive bocce ball court adjacent to the facilty. The service was attentive, polite and personable. If tasty "down-home" southern cookin' with a unique flare, at very reasonable pricing is your thing - this is the ideal place for you!
