“Brews on the Beach!”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

HBBC was a pretty sweet place to hang out, especially on Tuesday when they have the street fair outside. They have a great happy hour and after buying 2 pints and a pint glass to take home, my bill was very reasonable. The food was really good - I had a grilled buffalo chicken sandwhich that had their own buffalo sauce on it - pretty awesome. The fries were pretty good. The onion rings were def from the freezer, but no big deal - they actually had onion inside instead of some sort of batter only concocktion! I tried most of the beers between this trip and the next day when we went back.... for happy hour, again. I would def go back. The bartenders and servers were really cool, all struck up some conversation. If you decide to eat - eat out on the balcony.

“A hang-out for barely-legals”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

I've been here for lunch, and the food was ok, your typical bar and grill type dishes. But as soon as it starts to get dark, it turns into a sloppy massacre of 21 year olds trying to prove how much they can drink. I know i sound like a cranky old lady, but I'm only 30, and this just isn't my scene anymore. Maybe if the service was a bit better it would be bearable, but the servers assume everyone there is 21 and annoying, and they treat you accordingly.

“Had A Great Time”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

We rode bikes from our hotel in Newport Beach on a blustery cool day. This was the perfect place to get warm and relax. The atmosphere manages to be both cozy and California fresh. The beer selection was good, and the waitress kindly let us know that happy hour was only 10 minutes away if we wanted to hold off ordering.

The nacho platter was huge and very tasty. Onion rings were, well, onion rings, nothing special, but hot and tasty, not greasy. Beers were good, they had both their own brews and others as well.

Service was friendly and prompt. It was perfect for a late lunch, and would be a great place to have a casual dinner or watch a game. We'll certainly be back.

“good fish tacos!!!”
Reviewed 3 February 2014

We went there on a date night and we ordered appetizers and fish tacos, the appetizers were insanely big (.. always better to leave food than to leave hungry...) and good but the top ... fish tacos, very tasty!!

“in town for the weekend”
Reviewed 18 January 2014

We came here as soon as we got into town for a snack and cold beer. We ordered the nachos and beer samplers. The nachos had great flavor, the only thing I didn't care for too much was how thick the chips were, although I believe they were home made. The beer sampler was great - three beers made by the Huntington Beach Beer Co and three guest beers. All six were very nice. The service is always good too - worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood!!
