The rooms were dusty and had a weird smell. I would recommend for you to spend a few more dollars and get a cabin with a view. We go to Idyllwild to relax and look at trees. When you're in these rooms you feel claustrophobic because there is absolutely no view. Horrible service and Horrible room, never again!!

The pictures on the internet are much much better than the actual reality of what the place looks like. This place should be called motel 6 instead because that is basically what it is.

Room Tip: Pay a little bit more to stay in a real cabin to experience what Idyllwild is all about.

This is not a 3-star inn, but it is very cheap. You may be quoted a higher price on the phone, but there is a "$69 all rooms" sign in front, and they will honor this deal even for 2-bedroom suites. We stayed in room 13, which is a 2-bedroom suite that sleeps 5 (1 king, 1 queen). The carpet is new. However, the kitchen sink has a broken cold water knob, so you'll have to get cold water from the bathroom. The ACs in the bedrooms are very noisy and you'll have to turn them off to sleep. However, they also have a ceiling fan in each room, so that was okay at night. Katie, the manager, is very nice and accommodating. However, I understand that the inn will soon be turned into a spa, so you probably won't be able to get these cheap prices anymore. It's also a reason why they won't do any major repair to the rooms now.

At check in, the lady in the office was frazzled, but friendly. She did let us know she was exhausted and overworked. She "wasn't sure" if she had cleaned our room since she said was in charge of doing everything. The room was ok in parts, but there were crumbs on the counter and stove top, leftover, old food in the cupboard and beds that had hairs on the sheets. The bathroom was fairly clean. The decor was hideous, but we didn't mind that part.

Within walking distance of town. Nice rooms. Could use some updating, though. Very friendly staff, especially Katie. Very nice to have a full kitchen when you are away from it all. There are many places to enjoy quiet walks around the area. They have a few movies and games you can borrow, in case you want some "down time".

Room Tip: I would suggest getting one with the fireplace.

I've stayed here several times in the past...My partner found it on one of those Livingsocial deals...and we decided to do book a room for the great deal....not realising it was the old Taquitz Inn...This is a old place...but so charming and rustic...The rooms are spotless, The managers are friendly and very helpfull and bend over backwards to take care of your needs...The Hotel is not HC accessable...but they found us a room with not to many steps...I would not recomend this Hotel to the Handicapped though untill they reconstruct a few rooms...Overall this place is great...and would come again.

I spent a weekend trip away from LA. I had never been to Idyllwild and I saw a Livingsocial deal and couldn't resist. I went with two friends of mine. Booked two rooms, 16 &17, they are right next to eachother. Mim checked us in, she is adorable and gives you all of the information you need as a first timer. She made us feel right at home! My room had a small living room, kitchenette, bedroom and a bathroom with a full tub. Everything was clean and cozy. It's not the Waldorf hotel, but all of our needs were met.
The location of 16 is located just as you enter the lot, so you can hear some cars go by. The only slight issue I had was with the water pressure of the shower, nice and hot though.
We packed Sandwich food which was perfect with the kitchenette. Town is a 5 minute walk away, adorable and artsy. Weather was great and skies were blue!

Loved my first visit to Idyllwild and we are planning a bigger trip with more people!

Apple Blossom Inn is a delightful place to stay in Idyllwild. Close to town, quiet. restful setting, and everything you need is included. Stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and enjoyed being able to reheat carryout in the kitchen while watching a late movie on the flat screen TV. The fireplace in the living room was a great surprise. Looking forward to a second visit.
