“The FlatBread is a MUST”

One of my favorite places was this little shopping center right by the Idyllwild monument, which houses the “Idyll Awhile Wine Shop & Bistro. This little shoppe offers a modest selection of wines, but not in the sweet wine area, which is what I like. The two "sweet" wines that they do have were just okay. BEWARE there is a $5 corkage fee on ALL bottles, but they do offer wine tasting deals.* For non-wine lovers, they have specialty beers.

What we really enjoyed here is the atmosphere and the FLATBREAD. We tried 4 different flatbread combinations: Fontina & Goat Cheese with Fresh Chives & Rosemary Ham; Pesto Chicken; Olive Tapenade w/Swiss Cheese; & Fig compote w/ Asiago Cheese & Prosciutto.(In order from favorite to least.) The Fontina Flatbread combination is a MUST TRY!! YUMMY YUMMY

We were here on Monday 8/12/13 and on this day they open from 3-8p.m. We had an opportunity to engage in a nice conversation with the owner. Nice guy.

Overall: A nice place to have a drink while unwinding.

Great selection of beer and some light snacks. Limited selection of wines but at a very reasonable price. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Live music on weekends brings in locals and visitors. Good place to add a little social plus to this cool town

My fiance and I visited this "wine tasting" shop on a recent visit to Idyllwild. We were disappointed with it in terms of tasting-the tasting menu was limited, expensive and didn't have a common thread (region, varietal, etc). We decided to each just have a glass of wine instead and shared an antipasti platter. The antipasti was surprisingly good-nice cheese variety and very large. We ended up buying a bottle of wine to take home with us. We go wine-tasting often and wouldn't recommend this for wine tasting but would say its a good place to grab a glass of wine in the small mountain town.

The owners are kick back and the music is great. Relaxing place to enjoy food, drink, music, & conversation with locals and visitors. We have met the most interesting people there.

Enjoyed the wine tasting experience. Great wines at good prices by the bottle. Good music on Sunday afternoon.
