The Bunkhouse is a great place if you want to get away. If you want a babysitter for your kids, dog park, theme park rides, a pool, TV, etc. then this isn't for you. This is the place you go when you've had enough of that stuff. The rooms are are clean, you can prepare a sandwich, make coffee, stroll through the pines, town is 2 minutes by car or 5 minutes if you walk and the price is right.

Room Tip: This place is for a relaxing get away.

We came with our son, his friend, and our dog. The rooms were very small, the heater noisy, the walls too thin, the shower was like a camp shower, the 1 positive were the scones, they were delicious. I would never stay here again.

We got "that" deal through Amazon local, and our stay was all right! Cozy room - yes, definitely old style, but came with frig, 2-burner cooktop (which we did not need/use), kitchen sink with dishes, utensils, soap etc, mini-coffee maker, coffee, sugars, creamers. Unfortunately, no microwave, at least in our unit, and no tea. Room was dark, and there was no comfortable seating for reading etc. Bed was acceptable and room got warm and comfortable. Nice kitchen table with cloth and 2 chairs. The "breakfast in the creel" was nice - best scones ever. BUT, yes, we resented that in fact, it was delivered to the door at 9:30 (we were informed at check in) both mornings. And even the stated 9:00 am breakfast delivery time is too late to be useful. Their sound policy, as stated in the in-room book, actually says to MUTE any electronic stuff between 9 pm and 9 am! That's pretty severe, folks - we did have out TV on very low. But our neighbor included someone who practiced their recorder/flute for over an hour!! Never thought that would ever be something to endure! We had no problem with reception for iPhones, etc., as others have stated.
Location is too far out of town to walk, at least in the snow and ice. But VERY close to drive in. We had never been to Idyllwild and found it to be a very pleasant spot.

all. Here are the breakdowns of why it wasn't somewhere I would every consider coming back to.
1. The manager Holly is very rude and impatient around children
2. No where for children to run around and play at.
3. Next to the highway and there is a rock hill behind the bunk house that is extremely dangerous for children to be around at.
4. Wifi is ridiculous! You have to come out of your room and walk to the office to get any wifi at all.
5. No cleaning service at all. Only when you leave. So if you plan on staying for a couple of days you need to bring your own cleaning supplies
6. Extremely noisy heater that kept us up all night even when it was off. First night we didn't read the sign to turn it off because it made a loud noise, but the second night we did turn it off and it still made a horrible loud knocking noise that disturbed us all night.
7. Old and out dated t.vs and no dvd player ( which they claim that every room has)
8. Rooms are very small and balcony is extremely small.
9. Shower was would go from extremely hot to cold and the shower head was very small looked like the head for a bathroom sink LOL!
10. Bath amenities are not what they claim to be. It says they offer Aveda products. Well you wouldn't know it because it comes out of a nasty white dispenser, This is the biggest thing that really disappointed me and made me write this review was that the day after we came back home we received a phone call from Holly explaining to us that we had broken a dish and a cup. I don't mind paying for that since we did break it, but the plates were very cheap and by no means were Potterybarn style to cost her 5 dollars each. If you have ever been in a 99cent store you can find those plates with the brown rings around them for 10 for 1 dollar. But whatever I really don't care I will pay it, But the worst thing is then she asked us to pay for some broken lights that were outside that she claimed our kids broke. My husband asked her if she saw them break it and she said no, but she said your kids were running outside and more than likely broke it. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!! How do you claim that if you didn't see it yourself. But clearly I don't believe that they want us to be repeat customers. I hope that they will read this and find some way to apologize.

My girlfriend and I stayed here on a Groupon deal for 2 nights. This place is so cute! From the "cabin" itself to the breakfast that is delivered to you in a basket. We loved every minute of our stay. Thank you to everyone at Strawberry Creek Bunkhouse for the amazing hospitality!
