My wife and 2 kids rented the cabin for 3 nights early May 2014. We were its first guests.
The cabin was very clean and very spacious. Nice and quiet towards the end of the street.
There is a large window looking out at the huge Tahquitz Rock. You can sit outside on the
patio and just listen to the wind blowing between the trees while glazing at Taquitz Rock... I think its all wilderness area between you and Taquitz Rock. Its so relaxing. My wife really loved
the black recliner style chair.. very comfortable.
Two of the rooms have the therapeutic mattresses and everyone slept like a baby. Kids kept calling it their home, they really enjoyed it. Nice place to unwind. The home is very close to
humber park (I hope I spelt that correctly). Staff was great, Town was Great, Everything was great. Make sure you get your permits (hiking and parking) if you plan on sight seeing and hiking.
Very Very nice Cabin, highly recommend!!! Thanks Woodland Manor for sharing your Cabin.

Room Tip: You need permits if you plan on hiking. You can pick these up at the rangers station. You also need...

My husband and I rented the Creek Cottage and couldn't have been happier with our experience. We choose this place specifically because it is pet-friendly and we could bring our dog. The cottage was adorable, well-appointed, and sparkling clean. It felt like an old family cabin that is well loved with lots of one-of-a-kind touches throughout (think: antlers on the wall, a curated collection of miniature ceramic squirrels on a shelf, etc.). Sweet. The cottage has no shower, just a tub, but that kind of adds to the charm. We were there in April when Idyllwild is still quite chilly, so we loved having the fireplace and kept it going pretty much day and night (you can buy firewood at Woodland Manor for $6 a bundle). The cottage was well stocked with games, books, and puzzles--perfect for bunkering down in front of the fire. It has a nice deck that looks down on a small creek; it's lovely. There was a grill on the deck, which we didn't use. The cottage is in close proximity to "town" and on a quiet road with several other (what seem like) vacation cabins. As another reviewer noted, this cottage is not secluded. In fact, there are other houses pretty much on all sides of the property. However, while we were there, there didn't seem to be any other people around and it felt quiet and private nonetheless.

The staff at Woodland Park Manor was very nice and easy to work with with. The only reason I give this place four stars instead of five, is that they add a $35 cleaning charge to the price that is not well advertised on their website.

The small cabins on the main Woodland Manor property looked cute, too. They're all much closer together on a little "campus" which creates a different atmosphere altogether. Still, they looked similarly fun and sweet, and are much cheaper.

Woodland Park Manor has two sets of options to rent. One is on their actual property, in duplex cabins. The second option is their larger rental cabins that are located off their main property. We stayed in one of the duplexes. It was a large unit with a fireplace and two queen sized beds (one in the main room, one in a little nook - maybe the "dining room"? There is a small galley- like kitchen attached which has everything you need for your stay - stove, oven, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Although you bring all of your own food, the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans and cooking utensils. The units are clean, if a little outdated, with a fireplace and floor to ceiling windows along one side allowing for great light. We also greatly appreciated that the place is dog-friendly with no extra deposit.

The grounds are welcoming - with a pool and some picnic tables outside. We spotted a couple of rabbits hopping around as well. The property is just under a mile to the center of town, which makes for a long-ish walk, or a very short drive. Staff are courteous, and there is a DVD library in the office.

Overall, it's a great value for the area, and good for an extended stay, or family stay.

My husband and I brought our red doberman with us to this 'dog friendly' Oak Park Manor in Idyllwild, California. I had no idea how absolutely splendid our two night/three day stay would be. The air is fresh. The sound? None. The peace? Everywhere. I found myself unwinding, reading books, taking a swim in their delightful pool, taking nature walks and just enjoying the surrounding of our cabin. The bathroom was large and roomy. Everything was exceptionally clean, and all the kitchen appliances worked perfectly. This location is just far enough distance from town that you feel like you are truly 'getting-away-from-it-all.' The Innkeeper's Denise and Colin were friendly and attentive. I can't wait to book another min-getaway for the fall. This is one of those rare gems that you don't want to miss. I will add photos later. If you live in San Diego, the drive is so simple. The 15 to Temecula and head North East. The drive is just under two hours from Rancho Santa Fe.

Room Tip: I would recommend the the cottage cabin with the large view of the trees. We stayed in 4A and loved...

We just came back from a three night stay. We rented the Cottage in the Woods cabin which was absolutely perfect. All the cabins and cottages along the way looked amazing and we were very quickly impressed with the wonderful service at the front desk. But once we found our Cottage in the Woods and followed its private driveway all the way up to a very private cottage hidden from view, we were sold!

For starters, the place is a very charming and cozy cabin. It had a full kitchen that's also fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, plates etc. There's even two rolls of paper towels, dish soap and cooking spices. This was all very important because cookware is heavy to transport. Next, the bedroom/fireplace was perfect. Not once did the cabin get cold the heater is great and kept the place at a perfect temperature. There was a blizzard outside and I was wearing a tank top inside. The tv was great, a very nice plasma. The bathroom also came fully equipped with more towels than anyone could possibly need and plenty of bath tissue. The hot water came quickly and lasted as long as you wanted for both the kitchen and shower.

The place was very secure and clean. The staff was very nice. They even shoveled the snow from the front steps of our little patio all the way up the driveway to the main street. Our car got snowed in and since we're from the city we had no idea how to properly remove a car from ice and snow and they kindly helped and gave us tips until we were safe to leave.

We have absolutely no complaints, only great things to say about the place. I was hesitant to write a review because I wanted this place to stay as a hidden gem. But it truly is an incredibly beautiful place to stay.
