Strawberry Creek Inn
Ranked #7 of 9 Idyllwild B&B and Inns
Reviewed 11 September 2012

this is our first B&B and loved it. We stayed in Maggie's room and I think this is the biggest room. Breakfast was excellent. We didn't do much while we stayed for 3 days, which is our main goal of this trip, "DO NOTHING" there is a creek behind the inn and it was a nice walk along the creek,

Room Tip: Maggie's room

Strawberry Creek Inn is a quaint B&B just a little ways outside of the refreshing mountain town of Idyllwild. There is really nothing about this place that I don't like. I have stayed here several times, but have only now chosen to write a review.

First in general about the Strawberry Creek In n and Idyllwild. If you REALLY want to feel like you have gotten away from it all, Idyllwild is a great place to go. Out of the metro Los Angeles area, but feeling like a million miles away. Far less commercialized than the Big Bear area, Idyllwild has a homey small town mountain feel. While in Idyllwild do NOT miss the following:

The Movie Theater...there is a pic of everyone who's anyone from the entertainment industry who has ever been to this theater...and there are hundreds. You could spend quite long time just looking at autographed pics from celebrities adorning the walls here.

PIES! There is a pie shop, though the nane escapes me, but it is in the Fort section of town. The make AWESOME apple pies...grab a piece at sunset...you will be GLAD you did!

Metrognome Restaurant...this is THE place to go for a nice dinner out while you're in town!

San Jacinto Room

While not the most expensive room we have stayed at here, it was nice, as has been every room we have stayed at. There is a nice deck off the room and the grounds are nice as well with a small creek running just to the side.

Features a skylight over the queen bed, a wood-burning fireplace (a Java Log for each day of your stay is provided free of charge from November through March), TV/VCR/DVD, small refrigerator, coffee maker, and a private bathroom with shower.

Other goodies...

Wood-burning Fireplace
Air Conditioning (during Summer months)
Skylight
Private Entrance
VCR/DVD Player
DirectTV with Premium Channels
Refrigerator
Coffee Maker
Private Bathroom with Shower
Queen Bed

Room Tip: We stayed in the San Jacinto room this time, but the other rooms we've stayed in have been the E...

My wife and I have visited three times and we'll keep coming back for years to come! Rodney and Ian are Innkeepers extraordinaire! We spent three nights and three days with them and they took impeccable care of us over the 2012 Labor Day Weekend!

Perhaps the most fun was spent relaxing in one of their hammocks watching the sky go by above the beautiful pine trees. That said, it was also wonderful to get up early to enjoy Ian's perfectly prepared coffee before hardly anyone else was up and about!

You can't go wrong here!

Rodney & Ian were great, the place was great. I would recommend it to all who wants to visit. We walked along the creek behind the inn to get to town, it was serene and peaceful. I loved all the beautiful & tall pine trees. Everyone we encountered were very nice, from people walking down the street to the storekeepers. Food was great not only at Strawberry Creek Inn(breakfast was gourmet), but very good at Cafe Aroma & Gastrognome. It also felt good to support the town's economy by purchasing artwork from local artists!

The Strawberry Creek Inn was the most relaxing place I've ever been. The area around the inn has plenty of places to chill out, most noteably the hammocks and porch swing. The owners, Rodney and Ian were absolutely delightful.I felt like I was staying at a friend's house, as opposed to just a bed and breakfast. The breakfast was amazing and the owners were very good to accomodate dietary restrictions and preferences. I cannot wait to go back!

Room Tip: Skip Jo'ans when you go out to eat in Idyllwild. The food was horrible (and infested with things...

Stayed in the cabin ("Ponderosa" I think) - perfect for one night for our family of four. It's cozy but lovingly furnished. The proprietors are very nice and helpful, and it's an idyllic location. Breakfast was healthy and tasty.
