“Girl Scouts love The Tin Fish”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

Took a couple of Girl Scout troops to Surf Camp at Imperial Beach. Before we left for home on Sunday afternoon, we stopped at the pier to check it out and have lunch at The Tin Fish. It's a walk up and order type of place, luckily our group, all 18 of us, got there at about 1:30. There wasn't much of a line until we got there. We ordered individually, but as a group, we chose a variety of items from their extensive menu, from fresh fish tacos (huge and delicious) to fish & chips, crab po'boys, chicken strips and quesadillas, they were efficient at completing all of our orders in a timely matter. There were alot of us, but we had no trouble finding seats at 3 tables. We didn't have a bunch of girls eating while others were sitting, it seemed orders were constantly coming out of the kitchen, hot and fresh! The girls were in heaven!! We heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone about the fish the delicious cole slaw and yummy fries. No one was disappointed and every morsel was devoured by my hungry group. After eating, we checked out the ocean, saw some dolphins out by a fishing boat and sea lion hanging out. Walking back to shore, there were lots of fisherman and lots of fish being reeled in. Everyone was full and happy for the trip home, we'll definitely be back! The restroom at the restaurant is locked and pay to pee. We waited and stopped at the stall on the pier and the restrooms right before the pier next to the trinket shop.

“Amazing Views”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

We usually just have their appetizer platter which is good and a Beer. Its great to be able to have a beer and watch the Sunset, the sea life and the fish, rays, crabs ect.. that the fishermen catch. Great Place.

“Location is great after a pier walk”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

Good to see a restaurant at the end of the pier. They had a menu of more than burgers and had a breakfast menu even though they opened in late morning. Also serve cold beer and try to make the most of where they are. Don't expect any terrific food.

“Very tasty but expensive”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

Lunch at the pier, very tasty (had the fish and shrimp platter) but expensive. Order, pay, wait for your food. I managed to snag a table outside while husband ordered, so I can't comment on the ordering process or appearance inside the Tin Fish building. Their cole slaw is really good, kind of an Asian influence there, but probably not everyone's cup of tea. The fish and shrimp were both very good, but the sauces (cocktail, tarter) are served in tiny little cups and our servings barely had enough for 1 piece of shrimp. My brother had the chicken tenders/fingers with bbq sauce (he's not a fan of any kind of seafood) and said the chicken was excellent. Fries were ok, nothing special. Keep an eye on your food, the gulls are everywhere!

“Walked the pier to try the food!”
Reviewed 17 February 2014

What better a Saturday afternoon than sitting on the pier, eating my beloved fried clams and fish, and drinking a beer? The food was great. It was a popular spot too.
