“Our spot for family trips in the area”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

We've stayed at the Hyatt a few times now and each time I like it better and better. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The pool and activities are great for my 4 year old and he has a blast. Staff service is great, they are very friendly and go out of their way to be accommodating. Hotel food is a bit pricey but I'd say above average. Only negatives for me was that the air conditioning is a bit loud and the bed can be a bit uncomfortable, next time I'll bring my own pillows but there definitely will be a next time.

Dear Discokill;
We are so pleased to be a part of your family memories in the Coachella Valley. Indian Wells is special place, taking on many different personalities throughout the year, and always with a sunny face! We would love to be able to find a perfect accommodation for you for your next trip regarding a quieter AC and comfortable pillows. Please contact us at indianwells.regency@hyatt.com prior to your next visit so we can arrange the details to welcome you back.
Thank you.

We went to Coachella in 2013 & stayed at the Miramonte across the street. Whilst it was a convenient base for festival (we're a little old for camping), we were a little disappointed with it, so when we decided to return this year we decided to give the Hyatt a whirl as we have had some good experiences with the brand.

I booked it almost a year in advance & didn't realise at the time that it was Easter as well as the festival, so the wallet-crippling room rates were to be expected. We'd also opted for a Golf View room, which is a notch up on the basic room. We figured it would be more peaceful than a room overlooking the pool during one of the biggest music festivals in the world. We were right.

The room was a little tired looking in places, but nonetheless nice, & the view of the fairways from our balcony was lovely. The balcony became our little oasis of calm between festival visits. As during our 2013 trip, we chose to shop at the nearby Ralph's rather than eat in the hotel, so I can't comment on the restaurants. The fridge in the room was a little small, but we managed to cram everything we needed in there.

My only slight gripe was that the pool areas were a little tatty & very noisy, which was a shame as we'd hoped for some quiet time while we weren't at the festival. What we got instead were pool parties with booming dance music, which as a 40-something rock fan was a bit annoying, but hey, it was Coachella, so live & let live.

Overall, the Hyatt was the perfect base for Coachella (10-15 minutes away by shuttle) & the Indian Wells area in general. If we come back next year we'll definitely stay here.

Room Tip: Golf course view.

i have stayed here two times and both times were great! the first time i stayed in the one bedroom penthouse suite. GORGEOUS! it is beautiful and the outdoor patio is very nice and over looks the pools. The other time ive stayed i was in just a regular room which is also nice but if you have the extra money to splurge, id definitely get the suite! they have a few different pools (one with a slide for kids and also a separate adult pool). they are all great! they have really good drinks and the cabanas are nice if you have little ones to keep out of the sun. the restaurant down stairs is very good but a little pricey but youre on vacation so its to be expected. They have the best workout rooms ive ever seen in a hotel and the yoga instructor was amazing when we went! The staff is very nice and i will be back again this summer!

My husband & I spent a few days getting away and relaxing at the Hyatt. When we checked in they put us in a standard room on the wing of Camp Hyatt. After spending a few hours there listening to the loud children, I called the front desk and explained that we needed a room in a quiet location. The response was "no problem" and we were immediately upgraded and moved to a villa where it was very quiet. Also, during our entire stay all of the employees/staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great also. Ten minutes away from the shopping and restaurants in Palm Desert. Next time we visit the Palm Springs/Desert area we will for sure stay at this Hyatt again.

Room Tip: If you have no children, ask for a room away from Camp Hyatt

Lovely hotel, great staff and nice spacious rooms. We stayed here after coachella festival and got to the hotel at 9.30 am knowing check in wasn't until 3 pm however we were told that a room was available and we would be able to check in... Great start! The hotel has 7 pools which means it caters to everyone, the main pool had lots of kids but they had an adult only one which we spent our time by and they had super attentive pool staff who were very friendly. Strawberry daiquiri is a personal recommendation. Everything was reasonably priced and the service was second to none. There were lots of restaurants near by if you didn't want to pay hotel prices but the room service was very quick, I wouldn't recommend the pizzas though, not great! All in all a great stay. Only down side is that the air con in the rooms was very loud, sort of like having a car with the engine running in the bathroom that switched on every 5 minutes, otherwise I couldn't fault the hotel

With Kids, ground floor room best as it's near pool, car & lobby. Plenty of room for our large group. Unlike the time share resorts, this pool is protected from Sand storms. Water slides for the kiddos & Adult pool ensure relaxing time for all. Kids buffet $10 which is enough to last them til dinner. Centrally located near Target & sandwich shops for any quick off property runs. Tennis & Golf was top notch. Fire pits & fountains plentiful & gorgeous. Tons of activities for the kids.

My girlfriend and I booked this hotel on line. We wanted to stay in Palm Springs or Palm Desert but the 4/5 * hotels were out of our price range. We came across the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells and based on the reviews and pictures decided to give it a try. We got there early (before check in time) and were immediately accommodated and asked if we would like a Villa or a room. We asked how much was the upgrade for the villa and were told "no add'l charge." We were thrilled with the villa!!! It was situated in the golf course and pond. An absolutely beautiful room with an amazing bathroom...I don't know about you but bathroom on girls vaca is very important! The grounds, the pools, the restaurants and bar areas were wonderful but most importantly was the staff....not only professional but kind, helpful and sincere! We stayed an extra day because the accommodations were so nice! Can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Request a villa!
