“Oysters!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2013

Must go to Drake's Bay Oyster Company. Has the most delicious oysters and a place to shuck, bbq and eat oyster after you buy. They have oyster sizes. Some up to two years old-best for bbq. They also have jars of daily fresh shucked oysters. It is an out of the way area where locals have been going for many years to feast on only one thing. Oysters! Getting there is a beautiful car ride through hills, horse, cows, chickens, and birds of many kinds. You can take your oysters and also go to the beaches nearby where sealife abounds and scenery is breathtaking. Support our local economy and go!

“Great place to launch, but check tides first”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2013

You can launch here quite easily and after you are done paddling, enjoy fresh Oysters from Drakes Oyster Co. Be sure to check tides and wind first. There are shallow areas and if you get caught at low tide, you will be sitting in mud without a way to get back to shore for a while. Seals pop their heads up as you paddle by and if you make it to the spit (opening) at high tide and little wind, you should be able to see Bat Rays and Leopard Sharks. This place is beautiful.

“Our best place to hike in Pt. Reyes”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2013

Drive down the Limantour Road all the way to the end parking area. The 5 mile walk each way to the end of Limantour split is highly recomended to see all types of coastal sea life. If your lucky enough to see the tide come in and out of Drakes Estero, it is a sight to behold! Sea lions frequent the area around the tip of Limantour Split, so keep a far distance away from them.Watch also for sneaker waves, so stay alert.
