Several of us were traveling on business and we were looking for a place for dinner on the night of our arrival. We chose Phans55 based on the great reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was very good and the service was fantastic - the entire staff was very friendly. Our entrees included two of the clay pot selections and the Hanoi fish. we also had several appetizers and all were excellent. As others have described, this place is tucked away off the main drag, and we are very glad we found it. We are in this area often and we will definitely return !

we had a group dinner there,
very good food, all Dishes around were excellent, prepared to perfection and very tasty.
the only disappointing part was that the deserts were not as good as the food.
the wine was also very good as well as the service.

I love this hidden gem! It's not easy to find as it's embedded in what must be the world's tiniest strip mall in an apartment complex. Not visible from the street, in other words. Ah, but once you find it....you're in for a treat.

The first thing you notice in this pan-Asian restaurant is that the decor is way above average. I think this is the only Asian restaurant where I've ordered a bottle of wine. It's more bistro-like in its setting and furniture.

The second thing you notice is the friendliness of the servers, including a woman whom I believe is the owner or manager who frequently greets you. She is very outgoing and friendly.

Most important, of course, is the food. They use upscale ingredients and everything just seems so fresh. I tend to order anything with lemongrass or ginger. Their sushi is consistently yummy and above average.

This place is truly in its own category. Not fast food. Not a buffet. No white rice just plopped on your plate with broccoli and beef. It has aspirations above and beyond the run of the mill Asian restaurant. And it delivers on those aspirations.

Without question, Phans 55 is superb at every level. It's in a weird location, tucked off the main streets and surrounded by high-rise apartments. So, if you depend on your GPS, you will get lost. Do a Google map search at home before you go. From the decor, the atmosphere, the funky location, the everything, Phans 55 is phenomenal. For starters, order their Cosmo. It rocks. The wine list is also exceptional. When it comes to the food, Phans 55 is a delight on every level from taste to presentation. We started off with the calamari appetizer, split it four ways and everyone was happy. Light, flavorful and expertly done. For entrees, we sampled the Shaken Beef Filet, the Ginger Chicken Claypot and the Beef Brisket Ragu - and no one wanted to trade their selection for anyone else's! This was a birthday dinner and the special cheesecake they brought out (with Happy Birthday written in chocolate across the plate) was devoured in nanoseconds. The service was friendly and prompt. Never been here before, but will certainly be here many times in the future. Hate to let our little secret out, but this place is a hidden gem.

I travel the world, and this restaurant is world class. The staff has complete confidence in the kitchen, and the kitchen delivers. And where some ethnic restaurants pull back on flavors, Phans55 doesn't. Sea bass - translucent in a classic fish sauce with chili and a touch of sweetness. It would even be great for breakfast. No, I'm not kidding! Yellow curry chicken with a baguette to dip into the sauce. Fabulous! All served in a contemporary/modern setting a half block off of a major Orange County artery. Service is spot on. I don't live in the OC, but in Seattle, and I plan to be back!
