“Really nice hotel”

This hotel is great for business. Is less than an mile from SNA airport.

They did some renovations at the lobby and restaurants and the main area looks awesome, they did a great job with all the changes.

The bed is a dream, great one very comfortable.

Recent one night stay for business. Hotel has an airport shuttle, I had to wait a bit though. Most reviewers already complimented the lobby. It was very nice. Outdoor area was nice too with the fire pits and comfortable seating area. Lobby bar still being remodeled, so no draft beer yet. Very nice bartender, I can't remember her name, but she was the only female I saw. Ordered a few small meals throughout the afternoon and evening. Crab sliders-very good. Guacamole and chips-excellent. I then ordered a BLT to go, with Avocado. Take the sandwich to the room, no Avocado.....ugh! Long day, so I just wasn't in the mood to call down to the lobby to complain, and there was an up charge for the darn thing. My room was fine, no issues. I probably will choose the Newport Beach Marriott next time.

Stayed at this Marriott for business in January for 4 nights. Location was great to the airport and surrounding business center. As others have stated the hotel lobby was beautiful. They are undergoing renovations but nothing was lacking or out of date. Room was pretty typical except for the bathroom which was extremely small. You could take care of all of your needs within i square foot. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Parking was rather expensive comparatively to other locations. My rate was only $95 per night. I would stay here again.

The lobby of this hotel is just lovely - exactly what you would expect from a hotel in this upscale area.

Unfortunately, that's the end of the redeeming qualities of this hotel. Overall, it was very muggy and humid...even in January. After blasting the AC in my room for 3 hours, it was still oppressive and led to a night of little sleep.

Decorwise, the rooms sported a lovely popcorn ceiling straight out of the 1970s. Furniture was the typical, hopelessly out of date style so typical of Marriott' s. Once again, this Marriott fails to have plugs beside the beds - an epic fail in this day and age.

So...I'm a Marriott guy...have been for 25+ years and I have status with Marriott. I stayed at this Marriott one night for $143....and found out I was charged an additional $250 for "clean-up". Found out the charge was for cleaning up smoke smell...which I didn't find out about until a week after I checked out! I'm not a smoker...haven't smoked anything since 11th grade (30 years ago)....so this caught me off guard. When I called mgmt. I was told...sorry...nothing we can do about it. I'm disputing the charge...and will never stay at this Marriott again...seems like a scam for new revenue!

We stayed there on January 10/11 2014 for a convention. Beautiful hotel lobby but many challenges. Check in by phone was great but we had to come back to desk as the parking attendant said we need different key pass to show we paid for parking. Rooms small but did have room for a chair and small table. These were missing in our room and everyone else's we talked to. No refrigerator in room for meds we needed to get cold. We asked and one was brought to room. Duvet was thin and we needed to ask for blanket to be delivered to room. Sundry and snack store was very very small with no thank you cards and it was meagerly stocked. Bathrooms small, one sink that could not be used when someone was on toilet.
Only one nearby restaurant very expensive, besides the poor hotel restaurant which served small limp lettuce with rotting holes for the shrimp wrap. Their Restaurant was not equipped for large crowns and we had to wait long time to order and get food. Some food never delivered. Very poor parking procedures. We needed to come back Sunday after we checked out to pick someone up who was not ready so we waited in the lot for 36 minutes. The attendant said we got free parking for 30 minutes but the cost of the extra 6 minutes was 12 dollars. WI FI in lobby was very slow and poor. I have been in cheap motels with better amenities. Of the hotel shop was almost non existant More like a closet with meager supplies. God forbid you forgot a few things as the nearest store is over 2 miles away. Not car you walk or taxi there.

This Marriott always gives me great service and is a pleasant place to stay. It has undergone an extensive remodel that leaves me disappointed. The sushi restaurant is gone and missed. New lobby is trendy and not to my liking. If you like new and fancy then you should be pleased with this update.
