Quantity and quality are reasonable expectations with the star of the show, prime rib starting at $22 lunch and $32 dinner. Indeed, quantity is ample for the star and its sidekicks at dinner, creamed corn & Yorkshire pudding. Quality though, remains more of a crapshoot, with flavor and tenderness of the star varying from seductive to downright boring. IMHO sometimes not even as good as the $10/lb freshly roasted prime rib for takeout at Ralph's supermarket (corner Brookhurst & Ellis in Fountain Valley). And most other sides such as salads, french fries and slaw are invariably forgettable to boot.
So one star for hokey but comfortable digs, another for attentive if not totally competent service, and a third for sometimes worthy prime rib. The rest of the chow -- take it or leave it.
