We have stayed here several times and always had immaculate room and great service. This time, the room had a towel by the sink, soap in the sink, and trash in the trash can. The rest of the room has obviously been cleaned and the beds made with clean linens. We were tired so reported to the desk when we checked out. They were concerned and wrote down the issue telling us that they would talk to the person involved. We were satisfied.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and generally like it. The location is great and it is a good value for what you pay. However, this time we were traveling with a 7-month-old and were surprised that they do not provide high chairs in the breakfast area. My DIL had to hold the baby on her lap and she was not able to enjoy her breakfast. I can't believe with all the families that stay there they don't have something as basic as high chairs. Also, the beds were very tiny. They were advertised as full, but it looked like an oversized twin to me.

The inn and suites is built from an old honeycomb silo. The rooms have a hexagon shape with concrete walls. It has an appealing industrial feel. However, the hotel is situated 50 yards from high speed railroad tracks and the trains do run late into the night blaring their horn as they speed through the nearby intersection. Overall it's a decent value with a good complimentary breakfast area in the morning.

We just stayed here for four nights and didn't sleep two of them at all. The train is 50 feet away and blows it's horn loudly when it passes every 30 minutes. Next, this hotel specializes in taking pets. Next to us was at a room full of at least three large dogs that barked all day and all night. The management wasn't very helpful, and said it would send security at times but never did anything about it. And finally, there are two construction sites adjacent the hotel, one across the street, and the second across the tracks behind the hotel. Early morning brings a lot of trucks and heavy equipment noise.
Really nothing else matters in this review but this - stay here only if sleep isn't important to you

Room Tip: My suggestion would be to inquire about their pet boarding policy, and if you must stay here, see if...

I only stay at La Quinta Inns. They are so consistent. I have stayed at this hotel twice this year and enjoyed it both times. We had a room in the historic "farm" section of the hotel. I was on the bottom floor and never heard anyone around me. The suites are really nice and roomy and do not cost much more than a regular room. If you can afford it, stay in one. The walls are concrete and stay nice and cool. The continental breakfast was great as always. So many choices. They had a nice lady cleaning up after us and stocking items as they ran out. The customer service/maid staff are wonderful as usual. There is a 24 hour Denny's in the parking lot next door to the hotel. Close to freeway access. I will stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Book a suite

First of all this is a typical La Quinta-- clean rooms, decent free breakfast. What makes this a unique stay is this was a converted grain silo in the past and still looks it from the outside. Inside though there are many good quiet clean rooms so long as you stay in the high floors far from the train tracks just beside the property. If you get booked into the smaller newer bldg, you will decide on whether you can handle the train that passes almost every 20 mins. I could not take it and they moved me after about 30 mins after I checked in. They moved me to the big grain silo on a high floor to the back and it was perfectly quiet since the silo has thick concrete walls also. Clean room there, clean bathroom, breakfast was hard boiled eggs, make your own waffles/pancakes, juice and some fruits. Location is very near the freeway so convenient to getting around the whole Irvine area. Overall good value for the money IF you get a quiet enough room away from that train track. Large room with small ref and microwave, flat screen TV and nice small work table (had room with two double beds).

Room Tip: If you like QUIET, ask for a high floor to the back of the BIG grain silo building. Concrete walls t...

Our stay was for the 4th of July. Check-in was fast, and even though we were about an hour before the official check-in time the room was ready for us. We stayed in the old grain mill part of the hotel - not on the train track side by request. We could still hear the trains coming by and one train felt it needed to lay on the horn as it passed, but it wasn't loud enough to be truly disturbing and it didn't prevent us from falling asleep and we never awoke in the middle of the night due to a train passing. The room was on the first floor and it was nice and roomy with a couch, coffee table, a desk, fridge, microwave, etc. The carpet was a little wavy in areas, but that doesn't bother me, and the air conditioner dripped water onto the carpet. We stay at La Quinta because they don't charge extra for our two jack russells. They have an area to walk your dogs with a poopy-bag dispenser and trashcan. It's not 5-star hotel, but you get basic good service and I've always been met with very friendly staff.
