It was a real treat to stay at this newly renovated beautiful hotel. Each room is unique and charming. Lovely bedding, ample pillows, THICK towels, and a gleaming modern bathroom. My husband and I met up with a group of friends and it was the perfect place to rendezvous for the weekend. A wonderful patio has been added to enjoy delicious breakfasts, huge hamburgers, and one of the best Bloody Marys we have ever had. Highly recommended for groups, wedding parties, or a relaxing getaway in a fun little town, just a short drive to Yosemite.

Room Tip: We stayed in room #1 with the covered upstairs front porch just outside--a good place for morning co...

Top notch renovation makes this hotel a must visit. The dining areas, bar and patio have been updated but maintain an historic charm. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the modern bathrooms are roomy and brand new but also lend themselves to a period feel. Well done!
The staff is friendly and efficient and the food delicious. Can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Water glasses and coffee are served on the 2nd floor landing.

My wife and I recently spent two nights at the "newly refurbished" Jamestown Hotel. Wow, were we impressed! The rooms retain the period charm with the modern creature comforts of thermal pane windows (our room was really quiet) our own air conditioning, a plush bed with high quality sheets and pillows and a sparkling clean bath with cotton towels to rival those in a Ritz-Carlton. The food and service were terrific and the staff were super friendly and attentive to all our needs.
In all it was a perfect visit and the next time our travels take us to California's scenic Gold Country, we won't be searching for another place to stay, we'll return to the Jamestown Hotel.

Room Tip: Room number 7 is closest to the second story front balcony which is perfect for a lounging and enjoy...

I had stayed here years ago when it was a old run down historic hotel. But after hearing of the new owners restoration of the place some friends and I decided to give it another try. Holy s$&@! What a change! All the rooms have been renovated with comfy beds and a bath you'd expect in a 5 star hotel. The staff was as friendly as you'll ever find and the food was to die for! Don't miss having a beer or cocktail at the historic bar. If I plan another California reunion this is the place I'll have it!

My wife & I stopped in for a couple of hours to watch the Belmont stakes and the atmosphere of the hotel was fantastic. Very cool bar and the entire hotel including the inside & outside dining areas have a great old historic meets modern day feel. The Calamari appetizer & dipping sauce was great and the bacon cheddar burger was insane - one of the best I've ever had and not at all greasy. The fries that came with the burger were also top notch. My wife also thoroughly enjoyed the New York steak salad. The entire staff was courtesy and provided excellent service. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Jamestown so we can try what I'm sure will be one of the hotels other excellent menu selections.

Road into Jamestown today and parked in front of the hotel for a stretch. Met own of the owners, a nice man who informed us of the new rehab on the place. As we were chatting 3 peopled walked up to him and complimented on a job well done. They said the breakfast was delicious and the accommodations were terrific. Of course we had a drink. Staff is extremely friendly and place looks great. I think they'll do great!
