cheaper option for staying outside the outrageous price line closer to Yosemite, if you're willing to drive the 70 miles everyday to the park entrance.
service was fine, not bad. they offer pastries and coffee in the morning but we left every morning so never partook.
the pool must've been nice because there were people in it every evening when we returned from Yosemite. rooms were comfortable and mostly quiet. our door wasn't sealed very well so we had to sleep with earplugs to avoid traffic noise. we asked for a room with a fridge and microwave to make our own lunches and breakfasts every day before heading to the park. they have free wi-fi but it is super slow.
a few negatives: pillows were lumpy, shower pressure was poor, and the free soaps were tiny-we wound up using our own.
a room on the third floor offers great views of the valley from the balcony.
there's not much going on in Jamestown. within a mile is the best breakfast eatery for miles around (Woody's cafe), and a cute main street area with a few more eateries. up the hill about 3 miles are several chain establishments (wal-mart, applebees, safeway grocery, big 5 sporting) and 2-3 other mexican and asian eateries.
overall, a good stay within our budget. would stay here again.
