cheaper option for staying outside the outrageous price line closer to Yosemite, if you're willing to drive the 70 miles everyday to the park entrance.
service was fine, not bad. they offer pastries and coffee in the morning but we left every morning so never partook.
the pool must've been nice because there were people in it every evening when we returned from Yosemite. rooms were comfortable and mostly quiet. our door wasn't sealed very well so we had to sleep with earplugs to avoid traffic noise. we asked for a room with a fridge and microwave to make our own lunches and breakfasts every day before heading to the park. they have free wi-fi but it is super slow.
a few negatives: pillows were lumpy, shower pressure was poor, and the free soaps were tiny-we wound up using our own.
a room on the third floor offers great views of the valley from the balcony.
there's not much going on in Jamestown. within a mile is the best breakfast eatery for miles around (Woody's cafe), and a cute main street area with a few more eateries. up the hill about 3 miles are several chain establishments (wal-mart, applebees, safeway grocery, big 5 sporting) and 2-3 other mexican and asian eateries.
overall, a good stay within our budget. would stay here again.

Definitely the best value I have gotten for a $60 hotel. Clean room, coffee maker, new TV, nice pool, nice amenities in general. And the staff was super friendly and helpful! Eat at Jeb's Hill Country Cooking in Sonora- amazing food nearby.

Room Tip: I stayed in the 3rd floor on the back side facing the pool, and it was really quiet and peaceful.

This was a nice hotel property with very nicely decorated rooms. Room was a good size with a very comfortable king sized bed, had microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker. Also included a basic continental breakfast with pastry and homemade pancakes. Only issues were the wooden frame around the bed - be careful not to bump into it, especially the corners. Also the air conditioner was fairly loud during the night (turned it off for awhile at one point). Also, good idea to request a room away from the pool as it can be somewhat noisy (especially on a hot evening!). Overall, a very good experience!

Room Tip: Pick an upstairs room away from the pool

Country Inn is conveniently located on Hwy 108, just a short drive from Jamestown and Sonora and within easy driving distance to Columbia, Angel's Camp and Murphy's. Our room was on the third floor in the back by the pool and it was QUIET. The beds were comfortable, the linens and towels always fresh and clean. We had two laptops and two smartphones and never had any problems with the wireless WiFi. Due to the small staff, there are some minor maintenance issues that need to be addressed and would elevate the rating: remove the dust in the corners of the room, clean the shades over the lamps in the bathroom, provide a clothes hook in the bathroom (our room had holes where the hook used to be) and have an ironing board to go along with the provided iron. The carpets are a bit worn but relatively clean, probably replacement will be on a "as funds come available" list. While the hotel offers a simple continental breakfast, there is no place to eat it unless you want to haul it back to your room. The front desk was always helpful and courteous even when overwhelmed with July 4th travelers.

Room Tip: If you want a refrigerator or microwave in your room, ask for it when you book. Ice machines are lo...

We stayed here for 2 night but had to pay for 3 nights because of the 4th week-end and they were sold out and we wanted to check in @ 07:00 on Friday morning. We stayed in a pet-friendly room which was fairly clean. We stayed on the back side of level 3 which is actually on the 3rd level parking so our room was right in front of our parking space. There really is no place to take the dog (8lb terrier) to relieve herself. There is no grass or even dirt area without walking several hundred yards. Our air conditioning would work for a few minutes then turn off, we had to turn the thermostat to 65 to get it to work. When we came back one afternoon, the unit was not working so we called the front desk and some guy came up and said we blew the fuse and we were going to wreck the A/C by keeping so low. I told him we tried for one day to get the room to cool by leaving it set at 70 but that didn't work, the thermostat was screwed up. He raised hell and I told him to go pound salt (but not in so nice of words). I wont stay there again, but it was reasonable and our room was very quiet, although quite dusty if you moved any furniture.

Room Tip: Stay on the back side of the 3rd level to avoid afternoon sun and the noise of the road

Hey, it's no lap of luxury, but it will do for a night or two. The good thing is that this place has had a recent upgrade of some of its furnishings so it is still as cheap as a crappy hotel, but not as crappy. The downside is they offer breakfast, but like another review pointed out, it is a lackluster selection. We need our protein, even just some hard-boiled eggs would be a step up. Either way, it's a decent place for an inexpensive stay.

Our stay included breakfast, but the hotel has recently no breakfast facilities! They offer a lousy selection (handed out from the hotel lobby) for you to bring on a tray to your own room.
WiFi is offered - but is hardly reachable and very unstable! To uptain signal, wait until late at night - and stay close to the hotel lobby.
Nice room if you don't care about breakfast and internet!
