“Stopped here for lunch on New Year's Day”

Food below average for what you would expect from the way the Inn appears. Friendly service, mediocre food.

“Restaurant is Closed, Jenner Inn has Nice rooms right on the water”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2013

The Inn has a series of separate buildings handing onto hillsides right above the water, some with private hot tubs, some with shared hot tubs, old buildings redone with nice old furniture. Enjoyable stay. It is clean, but if you want a modern sleek place, don't go here.

“Lookout Cottage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2012

Perfectly charming "Lookout" sits on the hillside over looking the Russian River with panoramic views from all the rooms towards the Pacific Ocean. Hummingbirds come to visit....chill out!
Cozy and comfortable, large deck, hot tub, full kitchen, 2 bed & bath. Plenty of walking, hiking, kayaking or biking...fabulous!

“Great Romantic Getaway!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2011

We stayed at the Jenner Inn both on the way, and returning from, our wedding. We encountered a gracious Innkeeper, who welcomed us with true northern California warmth.
Our river-side room on the first night was delightfully quaint, with knotty pine walls, and windows overlooking the mouth of the Russian River. We had a wonderful view toward the Pacific sunset. On our return, we stayed on the Inn side of the road in the "Treetop" room. A warm wood-burning stove, cozy bed, and slightly slanting floor gave a delightfully eccentric and romantic character to our final night on the Mendocino coast.
The dining room was open when we did our return stay. Innkeeper Richard had freshly caught fish for that day, along with the other fare from a simple but quality menu.
We had oysters to die for, the most well-prepared linguini with clam sauce we've had in ages, along with exquisitely prepared salmon.
We decided to have coffee afterward, and it took the waiter and busboy forever to bring it. When it arrived, it was lukewarm. My wife had ordered decaf, and for some reason no one seemed to remember to bring it, although we asked (when possible) a few times. We finally took some desert to go, and returned to our room. I have an extensive background in the hospitality industry (food & beverage), and I have to question the knowledge, training and experience of the courteous and friendly, yet incompetent wait staff. The room had four, maybe five, two-tops, and then a recently-arrived table of six. But even before the "large" party had arrived, the wait staff seemed to have difficulty with economy of movement. Our waiter was eager and pleasant, but my wife, who has considerable table experience, noted his lack of organization. When we arrived we had a bottle of Martinelli's put on ice, but after the initial pour, the waiter neglected to artfully pour further as he could have if he rotated through the tables properly. The busboy neglected to refill the water glasses, and we asked for bread twice. This is irritating, because I'm used to having bread with the meal, not after it. There was that, and one pesky fly that seemed to be attracted to unchanged vase water from the table next to us. The party at that table eventually got up and switched the neglected vase with a fresh one from an adjacent table. The Chef made up for it all, however! We loved our meal and our stay, in spite of the lack of table side craft and knowledge, which for me can be irritating because it is such a component of the dining experience. Don't let that sway you, though, because training is always a solution. This is one of the most romantic getaways along the Mendocino coast! Inkeeper Richard even offered flowers from his garden for our wedding, along with six champaign glasses for a post-wedding toast at the Point Arena Light. Now that's hospitality.

“The Jenner Inn Restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2011

The food really was superb. Local produce which you could tell with each mouthful. Loved the decor which took us back to the "ranch olden days seen on TV". The service was just ok to start with but half way through the meal a lovely guy started to serve us who was professional, friendly and funny but not over the top. Altogether a very, very pleasant experience. I would like to say that it was way, way better than River's End restaurant for the quality of the food and budget.
