“Comfy and convenient to Joshua Tree NP”
Reviewed 6 April 2017 for a stay in March 2017

The Adobe: suitable for a couple or perhaps 3, is a small, very comfortable and utterly charming small house near Joshua Tree NP. This was our second stay, and it was as wonderful as our first. The house is well equipped, good kitchen, TV, internet, lovely patio and a hot tub and small swimming pool.

The only downside was a $30 fee for paying for the booking through Paypal.

“Nice place but huge hassle with security deposit”
Reviewed 3 May 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed at Adobe over Easter 2016. The manager did switch a reservation for us and provided extra bedding and Easter candy for the kids. Our problems started weeks later when the $250 security deposit didn't arrive back into my PayPal account. The endless emails to the manager inquiring into the missing money resulted in the following excuses: overlooked paperwork, bookkeeper not in the office, check sent out but missing in the post. Finally, two weeks ago, I got another email with a scanned photo of the security deposit check and a promise that it was sent to my address. I am still waiting for the check and I haven't gotten a response to my last two emails.

I've been poking around the web and another guest had the same issues with the security deposit so mine isn't an isolated incident.

It seems a shame to go through that much unnecessary hassle for a two-night stay in the dessert. Think twice before booking through this company.

This issue was resolved, we sent multiple checks for the refund to the guest that she claimed never received. We provided proof the refund was sent timely and just not received. We eventually sent electronically payment so to put this to rest and the same day she claimed she just received the checks, multiple checks on the same day. This review is absurd and not just.

“Moon, Sun, Stars and Sand”
Reviewed 9 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

My husband and I spent 2 weeks in the Adobe from Feb 23 - March 7, 2016. We easily booked the property online for one week but as our week drew to an end, we decided to extend our stay. The second week was as good as the first, if not better.

I can't really describe how much we enjoyed this place, the views, and several ways to enjoy the property indoors and out. It felt like camping out under the stars when sitting out under the canopy with a chimenea burning. Shortly after checking in, we watched a beautiful full moon rise. The location is great and near 29 Palms for restaurants, grocery store, and of course Joshua Tree Natl Park, the reason for our visit, where we hiked daily. The desert wildflowers had started to bloom including some on the Adobe property.

Adobe is well-equipped for basic cooking and needs, including kitchen pantry items. Everything was ready and welcoming after our long flight. No WiFi but Verizon cell reception was good, and we were trying to unplug anyway. Adobe shares hot tub and washer/dryer with the Godwin property next door.

We hope to return to the Adobe again and would rent another Joshua Desert Retreat property nearby if Adobe is not available.

“Delightful Desert Digs!!!!”
Reviewed 31 December 2013 for a stay in December 2013

The Adobe is the best, most comfortable and professionally run rental in all of 29 Palms! We continue to enjoy the comforts of The Adobe including the hammock, BBQ pig, multiple lounging areas and cozy indoor spaces. Additionally its proximity to Joshua Tree National Park plus many shops and restaurants make The Adobe a perfect desert getaway!!

“Perfect Desert Retreat”
Reviewed 28 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Stayed with Joshua Desert Retreats in 'The Adobe' cabin just outside 29 Palms for the final leg of my American honeymoon.

I have to say it is probably the best place I have stayed in all my travels, it has everything, a fantastic secluded desert location but still close to local shops, gas stations and Joshua Tree National Park all within a ten minute drive, acres of land with cactus and old artefacts decorating the garden, a brilliant hot tub, a cool pool, tasteful indoor decor with all the amenities you need including a lovely bathroom and an abundance of fire pits and bbq's for the night time.

When night falls this place really shines. Your own little patch of desert becomes illuminated by fairy and solar spot lights that highlight the individual features, and when the suns completely gone the sky is filled with bright stars and a magnificent view of the Milky Way.

I would thoroughly recommend this wonderful place to anyone!

“Peace, privacy and quiet”
Reviewed 26 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We arrived after a hectic schedule. Other than airport hotel overnight, this was our first stay in USA. So at first we found some things different. And the heat was amazing! By day two we were acclimatised and the peace of Adobe was working its magic.
Loved the bed, the hammock, outside shade areas.
In fact if we return to Joshua Tree, we will probably want to return to adobe or another house in the group.

“Perfect 3 nights in Joshua Tree”
Reviewed 6 November 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We had a perfect 3 nights at the Adobe over the summer. It was our first time at Joshua Tree and we'll never want to stay anywhere else when we visit. Even our dog loved it! The interaction with the owner was simple and easy and everything at the house was exactly as promised. This is a magical little house with amazing sunrise views of the desert - we can't wait to go back!
