“Dissapointing and mis-represented”
Reviewed 4 July 2011

I selected this "lodge" based on the description and the reviews for our anniversary trip. What a terrible dissapointment. This "lodge" is nothing more than a low level motel. Start with the basics...heater didnt work (37 degrees the night we arrived); no simple things like, Kleenex, alarm clock ( actually...NO clock); closet doors off the track; we were there 3 nights, they made the bed once and never provided clean towels. Upon arrival, fhe office was closed and the keys to our room were pinned up in an envelope outside of the office. As for the "patio" or "deck". Upstairs, the deck is the 3-4 foot walkway in front of the rooms. Downstairs, the "patio" is the parking lot. "Fully furnished" kitchen means pots and pans in worst shape than my 20 year old camping kit. No dishwasher, but a sign saying "Please leave the kitchen clean." Seriously? Free cable is on a 10 year + old TV sitting on a table a foot and a half off of the floor and cable reception is terrible. View of the lake? If you stand in just the right spot, you can get a tiny glimpse of the lake...very tiny. So...be aware..this motel ia not as described and reviews from others are very misleading. No service and very low-level accomodations. On a positive...the bed and bedding was comfortable and the room was clean. So dissapointed to have selected this establishment for our

anniversary trip.

Hi, I am sorry that our facility didn't meet your needs. June Lake is really the quintessential fishing village, no frills and not a lot of services. I wish that you had told us about the heater or any other special requests as we would have fixed and accommodated. Clean towels and made beds are an everyday thing unless the do not disturb sign is out, and sometimes our family groups mix the pots and pans up, again so sorry. We live right on site and have both an outside phone and office phone set up for 24 hour service, and most people appreciate that they can grab their key and go. We even have replace most all of the TV's with new flat screens, I probably had a new one right there I could and would have put in. I understand that people don't like to complain and I am sorry that I couldn't make your anniversary more like what you expected. Clean and comfortable is our motto, so at least we got that right. I just wish that we could have gotten to know you better during your stay.

My family stayed at Gull Lake Lodge in late May for a week and had a great time! The lodge is a 2 story building located between June & Gull Lakes. It's off the main highway (158) which makes it quiet, but walking distance to June Lake Village. The Village has several restaurants to choose from, some shopping and fish & tackle store, small grocery store, etc. The Lodge was also walking distance for fishing June or Gull Lakes.

We stayed in a one bedroom unit that was recently remodeled with new carpeting, paint and a remodeled larger than normal bath room. Came with a full kitchen/dining area and separate living room with a TV. It's a pet friendly Lodge and our dog loved it there. We plan to come back!

Room Tip: They have a two bedroom cabin for large groups

Gull Lake Lodge 1 block from Lake.
Cabin # 16 , with 2 bedrooms, kitchen with stove , normal sized refrigerator, micro-wave.cpffee- maker . Sink. 2 tvs , one in bedroom , one in living area. Queen size bed in one bedroom , full and twin in other. Beds were comfortable . Living area was comfortable for 4-5 people. Fish cleaning area behind the check in area . Paid 150.00 a night . Went from Saturday June 11 left weds morning June 15th 2011. Weather was great this week . Snowed the week before. Not a lot of people there , kids might not be out of school yet. Fished Gull Lake several days . They had just stocked the Lake. Fishing was fair. Park is part of the Lake with Bar B Ques available and tables. Public restroom at Park. Boat fishing at the Marina was $55.00 for full day rental . We decided to fish from shore. People fishing in the Boat fishing was not having any better luck . We also fished Rush creek and caught 3 fish for 3 people. Next we went to the Owens River. Caught 12 fish there for 3 people. Fished Convict Lake for a short time , got 1 bite. Ate at the Silver Lake Café on one day for breakfast . Generous portions and good food. Could split a meal if trying to watch weight. Good fluffy pancakes. Also ate breakfast at the Tiger Bar. Bisquits and Gravy were better at the Tiger Bar Café. Tiger Bar sounds weird, its more of a Coffee shop with draft beer. Fair portions .Again food was good . Liked the Silver Lake Café food the best , but a lot longer drive . Tiger Bar is walking distance from the Cabin. We have heard Mexican food is very good at the Tiger Bar. Carnitas .

We've tried many of the locations here in town over the past 30+ years but for the past 5, we truly feel we've found our home away from home. I only wish they had a larger unit that could handle the 4-5 families that acoompany us on our yearly trip.
the lodge is conveniently located between Mammoth and Yosemite. It's walking distance to either June or Gull Lake. Accomodations are very nice with a large bathroom, living room and full kitchen. They have a fish cleaning area for the fisherman, internet access and a great helpful and friendly staff. Best of all - our Pets are welcome! Looking forward to our return trip later this summer!

After reading several negetive reveiws I wasn't sure what to expect. Traveling with our dog in tow I was dreading being assigned a "dog room". However upon arrival I was happy to find a clean and odor free room. The service was freindly and attentive but not overburying. The kitchen and bath were clean, the shower could use a little more water pressure but no real complaints. If you're going up for fishing trip, as we were, this is a nice place to stay, and I would recommend to a friend. If you are looking for a place to be pampered with all the added luxuries you might want to look elsewhere, but if you're looking comfortable place convienently located between June Lake and Gull Lake, this would be hard to beat for the price.

Room Tip: Request a ground floor room if stairs are a strai.

The Gull Lake Lodge exceeded expectations: basically a full size one bedroom apartment for under $90. Not bad. It was not the most recently updated room but it was very clean and comfortable. The living room had futons which I think are much more comfortable than your average sleeper sofa. Our daughter used the chair futon which converted to a bed the perfect size for her (she's 5). The king size bed in the bedroom was very comfy as well. It was great to have he extra room so grown-ups don't have have to go to bed when their kids do. Our room was #14 (Buckeye I think) and I would very much recommend it. The walls are pretty thin but all our neighbors were quiet.

Just back from a two day mid week ski trip. The hotel room was huge - one bedroom with a full kitchen and living room and extremely reasonable mid-week. Very clean, close to the ski lift, and very quiet.
